smbpasswd broken pipe problem on trying to join domain
Hi there..
I'm trying to install samba 2.2.5 from source on solaris 2.5 sparc. It
compiles with no problems, and smbd + nmbd will run, and shares are
accessible. However, when I try to use smbpasswd to join the domain the
following occurs:
smbpasswd -D 5 -j simpsons -r krusty -U administrator%myadminpasswordhere
provides the following debug info:

asterisk and gnokii on same server: scratchy sound
Hi,
Has anyone tried to use gnokii to send/receive SMS messages via serial or USB with AT commands while running Asterisk?
Some of my calls have a "scratchy sound" once in a while. It doesn't seem to be due to packet loss but some kind of interference (CPU is ok, etc.). I've noticed some coincidence in time between this scratchy sound and the gnokii process. I have a bash

Latency and 'Scratchy' Voice...

2) I have been in two calls where my voice has been describes as 'Scratchy'?

Meetme using ztdummy on Linux 2.6 sounds scratchy
I'm currently working out the config bugs on my * box and I'm noticing
that the meetme is very scratchy. As in not usable scratchy tho I can
hear the audio it sounds like when you talk through a fan.
Anyone have any ideas? Linux 2.6 with RTC installed. Using stable
release and SIP devices.

bad sound quality, also the ringtone
Hi,
it took me 2 days to get my asterisk box running, so now I completed and
I am disappointed of the sound quality. When I call other people their
voices sound somewhat scratchy. First I thought it might be a codec
problem, but I also recognized it during the ring tone or even the DISA
connect tone. Sometimes it is better quality and sometimes more scratchy.
Where might be the problem? I am

omega: omindex behaviour with duplicate files
Hi all
I need a little clarification with regard to Omega's behaviour with
'duplicate' files when running 'omindex'.
How is a duplicate recognised? Is it simply by file path? How is an
unmodified file detected, if at all?
I would like to set up subversion post-commit hook to update my index.
If possible I would like to just update the index with the newly
commited files.

"scratchy" sound on TE410P
asterisk 1.4.35

one span on a 4port T1 card
Got complaints this morning that outbound and inbound calls were
"scratchy" and I made a few test calls. It kind of sounds like the gain
is too high somewhere, and the audio is overdriven. Is this a problem at
the carrier? I'm trying to call them now, but it's Sunday morning in the
sticks, and my chances of

Scratchy Audio with Asterisk 1.2.4 over IAX on FreeBSD?
Hi all
We run an * 1.2.4 under FreeBSD with ztdummy kernel module.
zttest reports 99.9something % of accuracy, so timing should be fine.
SIP connections work fine, but we have a strange problem with IAX2
connections.
When an IAX2 call originates from the FreeBSD Asterisk to another Asterisk,
the sound is scratchy (sounds a bit like a 50Hz ground loop).
It's not a problem of the

several ext3 and mysql kernel crashes
Hi Ext3!
I'm running about 30 dedicated MySQL machines under quite decent loads,
and they are occassionally crashing. I've been logging console messages

This should be similar to 4.8.2 that I have, so no worries there.

[LLVMdev] ARM unwinding bug
Hi Ben,
I am aware of the bug. I have downloaded the test case and look around few
days ago. However, I am still trying to figure out the situation. Thus, I
have no further comments at the moment.
BTW, as an amateur LLVM developer, I am fixing the issues with my spare
time, thus I have to prioritize the tasks (3.7 release gets much higher
priority currently) and sorry for not being

scratchy sound
Hi,
I'm experiencing a few (but meaningful) cases of audio distortion (or bad quality). I can't say yet how often this happens.
Please listen to the following sound file:
http://213.96.91.201/temp/distorted_audio_1.wav
This was recorded by Asterisk while the local SIP caller was dialing out a SIP trunk (so the problem is on my side, definitely, and it doesn't seem to be related to

Dead FXO Module on TDM400P?
Since the irc channel wasn't any help, I will try posting my problem here.
I have two TDM400Ps less than a week old in a PC. All of the FXS ports
work fine, and all of the FXO ports worked fine up until thisafternoon. If
I try to dial in, I get a busy signal, if I try to dial out, all I hear
is a very scratchy, very crackly dialtone. If I swap the first FXO module
with the second on the card,

Will there be any support for iLBC in IAXClients soon?
Hello Folks,
I noticed that all of the IaxClient based softphones with exception of
Firefly only seem to have support for GSM but what about iLBC?
The quality is excellent with iLBC even on a dialup connection! Meanwhile
while the audio on GSM often sounds scratchy. Is anyone looking to
implement iLBC in an IaxClient based softphone soon?

Speex codec problem (unresolved ?)
Hi,
I'm sorry to bring this up again, but I have been googling forever and
whatever solutions are offered don't work for me.
I am using x-lite (the latest build) and trying to use Speex.
When I do call from the x-lite to another SIP phone or PSTN (through Cisco
gateway) My asterisk fills up with this message:
WARNING[1007]: codec_speex.c:196 speextolin_framein: Out of buffer space

LAN IAX2 trunk bad audio quality vs. LAN SIP trunk good audio quality
Hi,
I have an audio quality problem regarding IAX2. I have 2 Asterisk servers interconnected via 2 LAN trunks at 1Gbps (no nat, no firewall).
One trunk is SIP and the other IAX2.
Normally, I use IAX2 but have noticed easily reproducible audio quality problems (voice in/out is OK but there's a "third" noise overlapping with a "scratchy sound" as if it were some kind of

Low Quality Sound and Video settings in TF2
I have managed to get TF2 working at an acceptable framerate under Wine. However 3 problems arise when playing it.
When I run the game, it always sets my texture detail level to "Low" when I can run at "High" or "Very High" with very little performance loss, but no matter what I do, whenever I exit and restart the game, it reverts the texture detail level back to

ANALOG FXO ZAPTEL & WCFXO & WCTDM module issues seen with intermittent analog lines
Hello, I have found a "bug", I think in the way TDM400P cards handle FXO
interface disconnect/re-connect problems. Normally I do keep all the wires
connected from my CO / PABX quite securely, but I had a need to re-route the
cable from one side of the desk to another, and I simply disconnected the
RJ-45 connector and plugged it back in. THIS PROMPTLY RESULTED IN VERY VERY
