HELP! initialise_groups/initgroups input/output error
Hello everyone, I asked about this problem a few days ago because I am at a loss as to what is causing it. Below is the message I posted. I am resending it because I could really use some help, and because the address I originally sent it from has been inundated with message after message containing the Kaspersky virus. I must say that it is sad that people that send messages to mailing lists are

lock request at offset?
I was trying to copy swf file (35MB) from a windows machine to my samba share. It told me "There is not enough disk space". However, it lets me copy it in another share. I didn't notice anything different with the share I am having problem with. I noticed the following messages in the log: [2005/08/10 13:56:47, 0] locking/posix.c:posix_fcntl_lock(657) posix_fcntl_lock: WARNING:

Print Server Decision
I would really appreciate some help on deciding how to replace my NT Print Servers. Currently I'm running Samba 2.2.2 on Suse 7.0 on a s/390. I've setup SPOOLSS with 11 Printers at the moment and I'm experiencing some errors in the logs. These two errors are dispersed throughout the log.smbd file: [2002/03/07 10:33:45, 0] rpc_server/srv_pipe_hnd.c:open_rpc_pipe_p(144) ERROR!

Operation not permitted mounting samba-share via cifs
Hi everybody, I want to use my samba-shared Homedirectory from my Linux-Server on my Linux-workstation. I was using smbfs until now, but since i upgraded my hardware i'm not any more able to use smbfs, i get error-messages (timeouts) in the kernel logs and I/O-Errors on the console. Having this problems i read about cifs and that's much better, nicer, sexyer and faster than smbfs.

openldap with nss_ldap and smb domain controller panic on Fedora 4
I'm using Fedora Core 4. with packages of Samba, OpenLDAP, Berkeley DB that came with it. . I had just finished configuring OpenLdap and samba when i realized the nss-ldap libraries were not doing what it's supposed to do, like checking my LDAP for passwd's, logins, and ssh etc. 'getent passwd' only returned entries from '/etc/passwd'. So I had to install PADL's

NT user token: (NULL) what does this mean?
I've just noticed this in the log file for a user that cannot connect. It simply repeats over and over in the log. What the user sees is that he maps to the share, then gets a message "access denied" He can however connect to any subdirectory beneath the share. Weird. The setup is samba 3.0.4 on Redhat compiled with windbind as a member server Connecting to a Win2k domain using

winbind trouble under load?
We have a large W2K domain with numerous terminalservers at the local sites. Those sites also have a linux-2.2.20 server with samba-2.2.5. The samba is used to store the profiles for both the terminalservers and for the windows 2000/xp clients. I use winbind and have joined the server to the domain without problem. I can set rights on directories and so on. However from time to time when the
