I have a system that is RAID -1 configured as /dev/md0 is /dev/hda1 /dev/hdb1 /dev/md1 is /dev/hdb3 /dev/hdb3 it seems as though /dev/hda has failed.... I have another disk (identical model) that I can replace hda with. I know about the commands fdisk to repartion and raidhotadd /dev/md0 /dev/hda1 and raidhotadd /dev/md1 /dev/hda3 (to be ran after the system boots). BUT... how do I now get

Upgrade from 0.99.x to 1.1.x
Hi! I want to upgrade a Dovecot installation from 0.99.14 to 1.1.15, so I had a look at the following wiki article: http://wiki.dovecot.org/Upgrading?action=show&redirect=UpgradingDovecot The article http://wiki.dovecot.org/Upgrading/1.0 says something about .customflags -> dovecot-keywords and .subscriptions -> subscriptions change/conversion:

Mustek PowerMust 1000/1400/2000 USB (megatec, megatec_usb?)
Hi, a few days ago, I bought some of those Mustek UPSes that have both a serial and a USB connector. Currently only the serial port is supported by the megatec driver. This works fine so far. Now I have seen there is a megatec_usb driver, which currently only supports 2 other UPSes. How can I help to find out whether the PowerMust might actually work with the megatec_usb driver? -- Regards,

1.0.alpha1: Namespaces
Hi, I'm currently using 1.0.alpha1 without luck regarding a namespace issue. Maybe it's a general understanding problem on my side, but let's see :-) I would like to have my mail stored in Maildir format below ~/.maildir/, which works fine so far. I want any (sub)folders to be created like this: ~/.maildir/ /cur /new /tmp /.Folder/ /cur /new /tmp /.Subfolder/

Dovecot as a (quota) policy server for Postfix
Hi guys, I'm currently experimenting with Postfix, Dovecot and OpenLDAP to setup a mail server hosting virtual users. The standard stuff works fine so far. The only thing that doesn't work as I'd like it to do is Quota. Currently, Dovecot handles/enforces quota through the deliver LDA. When Postfix tries to deliver a mail to a mailbox that is over quota, the deliver LDA bounces the

group descriptors corrupted on ext3 filesystem
I am unable to mount an ext3 filesystem on RHEL AS 2.1. This is not the boot or root filesystem. When I try to mount the file system, I get the following error: mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdj1, or too many mounted file systems When I try to run e2fsck -vvfy /dev/sdj1 I get the following error: Group descriptors look bad... trying backup blocks...

Error mounting
Hi all, i'm new in the list so i'm sorry if this i'm posting is off-topic or it was already answered before. I'm having this problem; i've got an ext3 8GB partition and it doesn't mount, the cause of this: a user (yes me!) running fsck.ext3 with the filesystem mounted, ups! (snif, forgive me!!, totally newbie and mad) errors while booting: EXT3_fs error (device hda4):

EXT3 Superblock Recovery
hello. had a bad day yesterday: accidentally, the first 0.5% to 1% of my ext3 partition got overwritten, can't gauge it more exactly. Geography of the partition is: size ~100 GB. block size should be 4096. => deleted are averages to 500mb - 1gb still. I don't think it is relevant, but the device itself is /dev/loop0, because there is a cryptoloop layer between the device and the

(Sent to both EXT3 and Linux-RAID since both are in use and seem possibly relevant) I have had a number of problems maintaining a software RAID-1 set on an IDE box I maintain; it seems that doing raidhotadd on the drive marked as invalid works each time though. However, I've had both errors about trying to read past the end of the

Debian Sarge Root Raid + LVM + XEN install guide (LONG)
Hello fellow xenophiles and happy new year! I''ve documented the install procedure for a prototype server here since I found no similar document Anywhere on the net. It''s a Sarge-based Domain0 on linux root raid from scratch, using LVM to store the data for the domU mail server and its mailstore. I humbly submit my notes in the hope that they are useful to some weary traveller.

ext3 +2TB fs
I've got a 3.3TB ext3 on a FC3 64-bit system, running kernel 2.6.10-1.766FC3smp. I create the partition with parted 1.6.21, and I make the fs via: mkfs.ext3 -m1 -b 4096 -T largefile4 /dev/sda1 Works fine. bonnie++ running on it multiple times for days on end, no problems. However, I do the exact same setup on a RHEL4-AS i686 system, 32-bit, and the fs is totally hosed, get all kinds of
