Hi everyone!
I have two strange problems I cannot solve with my PDC SAMBA:
1)
>From every XP Pro PC I can access but sometimes I have to try 5 or 6 times
to enter my domain. Then, once entered, everything works good, until next
login, when I have the same problem.
This is what I can see in SAMBA log file:

Join the Samba-Domain with win2k pc
Hello,
I've got a problem. I've installed on a SuSE Linux 7.0 the Samba version
2.2.4. Now if i trie to join the domain with a win2k pc I get an error
message back saying that the username and/or password I supplied does not
match the ones Samba has got. On the win2k machine I have set the registry
entry "enableplaintextpassword" and also in the smb.conf file I have set "nt

Junghanns and Digium TDM400?
Hi all,
is it possible to bridge a call between a Junghanns quadBRI card and a
TDM400 in the same server?
It should be I think, -- I am trying this and when an incoming call comes
in, it hangs both up at the moment the bridge is attempted
(and a subsequent 'qozap: dropped audio' error is show in the
/var/log/messages)
Any thoughts appreciated -- I've seen posts, but no clear

Password Syncing
Is there a way to have the Samba password file sync up from the Linux (Red
Hat 7) password file either automatically or in a batch process.
We change user passwords every view months and it's a pain to have to change
both files each time.

After update to 2.2.5 "join to domain" doesn't work
hi list!
i installed samba 2.2.5 and used the smb.conf that worked with 2.2.4. and
the ldap-background wasn't modified. last but not least i made with
smbpasswd the password entries for root and the workstation. when i try to
join the ws to the domain w2k tells that the account is not available, but
it means the ws-account, because with the root account i can map shares.

once again: horrible speed!
hello,
sorry, but the problem stays! if i want to copy a file with 4 mb from a
w2k-ws to my samba pdc it takes near 25 seconds. if i copy the file from the
server to the ws it takes only 2 seconds!
another test was to mount a win_me-share with smbmount on the server: the
copy also takes 2 second (in both directions).
via ftp i can copy the file from the client to the server in 0,59 seconds

Help with master user
Hi,
Trying to implement a master user (1) for auditing purposes without
luck. Ubuntu 18.04.3, canonical official repos only, no ppa nor
self-compiled anything. From the log below I understand the master
password succeeds but AD auth fails. I am pretty sure I missed something
here. Also, notice the messages "Ignoring unknown passdb extra field:
original_user".

Samba+LDAP PDC - A few questions.
Ok, I've got a Samba/LDAP PDC built. I've got my groups added and even have
users in those groups. But now I have a few administrative questions.
If these questions have be simple answers, be gentle - I'm a newbie.
1). How do I/Can I script the installation of a generic password into these
accounts? I'm looking to put some common password in for all users and then
allow the

Print date on y axis with month, day, and year
I am trying to use ggplot to plot the data, and R code, below. The dates (jdate) are printing as Mar 01, Mar 15, etc. I want to have the date printed as MMM DD YYYY (or any other way that will show month, date, and year, e.g. mm/dd/yy). How can I accomplish this?
yyy <- structure(list(
jdate = structure(c(19052, 19053, 19054, 19055,
19058, 19059, 19060, 19061, 19062,

samba creating keytabs... ( possible bug, can someone confirm this )
Hm instresting way.
Whats the difference in createing the HTTP/spn with net ads or samba tool
( besides de found bug )
I'll go try this out.
You remember the "squid" spn/upn problem, this solved it also.
The squid kerberos group plugin now correctly detects the HTTP spn.
Thanks for trying out.

more questions.
I forgot to ask a few more.
Is there a relation between the hashtable ID /(parent,handle) so that if I used 2:
for a hash table I could or couldn''t use 2: for a (parent,handle)ID?
I also noticed that you type the hashtables like 2:2: can you have more levels with
this? like 2:2:2:1: ? and I guess the same question with the parent/handles.
thanks again.

Samba/Winbind issue
Hi,
I have an issue with Samba using winbind. We have Active Directory groups with underscores (for example sambagroup_underscore). But an underscore in Samba (Unix) is a space in Active Directory.
So my question is what character is used in Samba (Unix) for an underscore in Active Directory? Or are there other solutions to solve this?
I would be very happy if you can help me!

Trivial documentation patch
Greetings.
I'm not sure if this is the place or not, but I wanted to pass on this
patch (against CVS as of today) to document two exit values that are used
by rsync but not yet in the docs. Please let me know if there's a better
place to send it.
Many thanks to the developers and maintainers of rsync for all the
excellent work!

Win2K Client / Samba 3.0.4 PDC -> Setting Win2K Profile Settings
I'm trying to locate the list of registry values to adjust how Win2K clients handle the user profile with the Win2K boxes joined to a Samba PDC and logging in with domain accounts. Specifically I
would like to DISABLE roaming profiles!!!
Many moons ago, the WarpServer Win2K client from IBM came with very good documentation on how to adjust that client to not create roaming profiles, etc...

ADS users authentication problem where win2k and pre-win2k names of user differ
Hello,
I am new to the list and this is my first posting to the list.
I have an ADS running on Win2k3 in Native Mode. I have a user created in
ADS. While creating the user I have specified the "Win2K name of user" as
testbug and "Pre-Win2k Name of user" is bugtest. Essentially they are not
same and do differ.
I have a samba 3.0.25d running on Fedora Core 7 which has joined

Segmentation Fault on Large (over 2 gig) file from Win2k client to Win2k daemon.
I am trying to sync some large (greater than 2
gigabytes) files, pushing them from a Win2k client to
a Win2k machine running the rsync daemon. Both
machines have the CYGWIN environmental variable set to
ntsec.
Below is the full session. There is only one file in
the MyDatabase directory on the client, but it's 2.2
gig. Once I get this working, I want to set it up to

gnls( ) question
Last week (Wed 9/10/2003, "regression questions") I posted
a question regarding the use of gnls( ) and its dissimilarity
to the syntax that nls( ) will accept. No one replied, so
I partly answered my own question by constructing indicator
variables for use in gnls( ). The code I used to construct
the indicators is at the end of this email.
I do have a nagging, unanswered
