Two questions
Hi all
Two questions:
1. I note that help for the postscript device claims "The
postscript produced by R is EPS (Encapsulated PostScript)
compatible...". It does not say it is EPS *compliant*.
Indeed, the EPS produced by R includes a \showpage command
which I believe (not that I'm an expert!) non-standard EPS.
My question: Is there any reason why it is EPS compatible,

How to loop a Vobis sound ?
The sound file is played correctly for the first time, then when rewind to the initial position.
then copy PCM to buffer, the OpenAL report an error.
It seems like the OpenAL doesn't recognize the PCM data.
The OpenAL error number :

Printing in Corel Draw through CUPS
10/10/2007
After consulting with some local Linux consultants, we have concluded
that Corel Draw does not print under WINE because it detects the printer
as Postscript, converts the file to Postscript, and sends the file to
CUPS, which then converts the file to Postscript, again, and sends it to
the printer which prints garbage.
The consultant found a way to make a couple changes to WINE

Hello :-)
Implementing unoconv 0.4 as a filter as per
http://trac.xapian.org/ticket/324 has exposed two issues with unoconv. The
first was fixed and is dexscribed here for community benefit; the second is
unresolved.

On PostScript
I have been attempting to create a custom fax cover sheet for a hylafax
web front end called avantfax. It requires as input an encapsulated
postscript file conaining the glyph definitions and the text to be
subsituted as strings having the form XXXX-to-variable or
XXXX-from-variable.
I have been trying to create a valid eps file using a varitiy of methods
with no great succes. However, I ahve

''floating dialog'' class
Inspired partly by what others are posting here, and partly out of
necessity, I threw together a "floating dialog" widget class. It''s more or
less a rip-off of the dialog widget from the Dojo framework - I had a need
for something similar, but didn''t want to move outside of the
Prototype/Scriptaculous libraries.
When activated, the "dialog" floats in fixed

2.0.0-prealpha*: Only 8.3 filenames with NT 3.51?
Hi all,
We've been using the 2.0.0 prealpha's with some success, but
now I have run into a problem which I can't seem to solve.
The client, an NT 3.51 workstation logged in to an NT 3.51 PDC,
can't create long file names on a 2.0.0 prealpha Samba server.
For example, when renaming a file from 'readme.doc' to 'readme.pqrst',
'readme.pqr' is created. In

LPRng: LPRng and Samba (fwd)
I'm looking for a little help with Samba and LPRng, however, the LPRng
portion of it isn't really all that important -- I believe this is mainly
a Samba issue.
The problem here is that we have 4 campus servers. Each one hosts a Samba
domain. Sometimes, users for whatever reason will go to a different campus
(where they may or may not have an account -- the problem occurs when they

LPRng
I have a redhat 9 server I would like to migrate (install Centos on a
new machine, and move the necessary files) to Centos 5.
On the RH9 machine, I use LPRng for printing. This was mainly choosen
because it makes it easy to control access to the printers using
/etc/lpd.perms, something I never figured out how to do in cups.
All printer queues are raw printers, the printer driver in Windows

print command, cups, lprng, bsd
Good day.
I have a strange problem changing the "print command" from the smb.conf
file with different print spooling subsystems specified in the conf
file.
samba 3.0.4
cups 1.1.20
fedora core 2
If the "printing" option is set to "cups" the "print command" is not
executed. If the "printing" option is set to "lprng" or "bsd"
