need some help. I have upgraded to Samba 2.2.5. I do not have the printer
drivers installed on the Samba machine.
Initailly I was having an error on my w2k machines 'Access denied, unable to
connect' but the printing was happening without problem.
I added use client driver = yes into the [printers] section as

RE: Unable to Access W2K share as read/write using SM BMOUNT
Have you tried
smbmount //w2kname/share /mountpoint -o
username=user,password=pass,workgroup=domain
?

FW: my printers are still paused in Win2k and WinNT 4.0
Jim,
Not only does the buffer scrapper code show paused if the Printer name is
something like CSQ_office_a but if the host has off in the name like -->
hp@mercylaboffice.pa-ucl.com it puts it on pause...

Why does the Win2K print monitor say Paused when prin ting?
If you're using LPRng, add :done_jobs=0
to either the .common section or
each printer's entry. This will remove
the (retained) last job printed, and you won't
see it displayed as Paused anymore.
It seems that if Samba sees a job in the
lpd queue dir that has been printed, but not
removed, it shows that job with a status of
Paused.
LPRng after 3.8.10 defaults to :done_jobs=1,

print job not deleting
Has anyone seen this?
When we print using Samba, the printjob stays in the queue after prints
Also in the LPD.conf is set to :
save_when_done@
done_jobs=0
done_jobs_max_age=1
We're using Redhat 7.3.
Samba 2.2.4-1

2.2.7 and printer status
Hallo Samba-Team,
thank you for 2.2.7.
The only problem I found is an old one:
status of printers served from samba on Windows 2000
I'll try to explain this so clear as possible:
If I have a Windows user "Administrator", which is in Windows
administrative group "Administratoren" and this user is on Samba-side
*mapped* to "root" --> printer status is *ok*.

Annoying Printer problem...Samba 2.2.7a on Debian 3.0 with lprng
Hi all,
Have got Winbind working again successfully on another box, but this time
the printer won't work, it worked fine last time.
The printer installs fine, and it lets me print to it, but nothing comes out
on the printer, no sign of anything being sent to it.
I think it's a permissions problem or something...but I've not much clue
when it comes to printing on *nix how it actually

Installing merb - connection reset, retrying, connection reset, retrying....
This is my output. I don''t know what to do to make this work. I have
installed other gems without any problems.
Suggestions?

using poly in a linear regression in the presence of NA f ails (despite subsetting them out)
This smells like a bug to me. The error is triggered by the line:
variables <- eval(predvars, data, env)
inside model.frame.default(). At that point, na.action has not been
applied, so poly() ended being called on data that still contains missing
values. The qr() that issued the error is for generating the orthogonal
basis when evaluating poly(), not for fitting the linear model itself.

my printers are still paused in Win2k and WinNT 4.0
Hello,
It seems that I am in printer hell once again :) I am trying to sort out
some printer problems with our UNIX server. The basic problem is this. I
have a test server to K.I.S.S the problem. On this server I have defined two
queues which are csqlis and HPfinley. csqlis seems to work correctly and
displays ready. HPfinley always reads Paused on win2k and NT40 clients. The
output of the lpq

11.5.0 - SIP registration not retrying after failures
I had a SIP problem on an 11.5.0 system that I look after. It registers
with a SIP trunk provider, and at one point the provider had an issue that
caused registration to fail.
The problem was that Asterisk did not keep retrying, and it was not until
it was restarted that registration was re-established.
Here are the entries in the full log:

Retrying requests
I use this method to retry my requests if there are retrieval problems.
def with_retries(num_retries = 4)

Errno::ECONNREFUSED, Errno::ETIMEDOUT, Timeout::Error,

num_retries -= 1
retry unless num_retries < 0

end
end

This is completely inexplicable to me.
I has been using Wine for some time, but then I rebooted into Windows
for approximately 2 weeks.
At this point I decided to give Fedora another try.
However, Wine is being completely retarded!
Essentially, any executable that I run (ones that DEFINITLEY worked
before) only shows part of the GUI, or none of it. Even winecfg is
being retarded. I get windows

[nbdkit PATCH 0/2] retry: add support for retrying .open
In https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1841820, it was pointed
out that the retry filter not retrying .open means that an ssh
connection (such as in a vmx+ssh v2v conversion) fails when the ssh
connection itself cannot be retried. A year ago, this was an inherent
limitation of our retry implementation; but in the meantime, my work
to allow filters to open independent backends has made it
