Problem uploading printer drivers
I'm running samba 2.2.2-6 on a redhat 7.2 box running 2.4.9-7 kernel...
I'm trying to upload printer drivers from a Windows 2000 client. I've
followed the instructions in the samba howto collection. I've created
the print$ share, created the printer directory and subdirs, and made
sure they are writeable by me. I put myself in the write list and the
printer admin list.

RH9, Samba 2.2.8a and printing with CUPS
Hi there
I just installed the above mentioned system and try to print from a W2k box to the Samba box but nothing happens. There's no problem in printing from the RH box or via Webmin but when I try to print from the W2k box nothing happens. I don't get an error or anything.
I installed the printer by the help of the add printer tool in RH, and simply go to the Printer--->Add

WINSPOOL_EnumPrinters Found 0 printers one system with 1 parallel CUPS printer
I've had this problem for a while, but only recently have I realized
that I better fix it soon!
I compile my own Wine out of git. Currently, I'm running
wine-0.9.29-g5441536 but this issue appeared long before that.
Moreover, I stopped being able to print between Wine updates, so I
don't think it is anything to do with changes in Wine's code.
The simplest way to reproduce my

Logon script based on group
Hi there
Is it possible to have a logon script that checks which groups the users are a part of and then runs a logon script based on that? I've tried %G.bat but it doesn't work, %U.bat works though, but that's not what I want
Thanks in advance

Uploading printer driver from Windows client gives "access denied" error
I'm using Samba 3.0 on a Debian Sarge server, and am trying to upload
printer drivers from a Windows client. I connect to the server using the
root credentials (yes I know ...), but every time I get an "access
denied" message when the driver upload process starts. I can perform
other root functions via this connection no problem. I have uploaded
drivers this way in the past but

I am running samba and I am trying to get it to upload/download printer
drivers. When I go into the "Printers and Faxes" folder, or just
"Printers" on win2k, it shows my 2 printers, on WinXP I right click on raw1 and
go to properties, it asks to install the driver, if I click yes, it
takes me through the add printer wizard, which lets me select my printer
driver, but apparently

problem adding printer driver
Hi,
I am attempting to configure our samba server for print
driver download. The server itself was installed from
RedHat 7.3 and has been configured to used cups instead
of lpd/lprng. After studying the documentation on cups/samba,
I decided to try the Adobe driver install. I used the cupsaddsmb
program to perform the driver install, which works fine
except for the "rpcclient

Problem uploading printer driver in Samba 3.0.14a
Hi,
I recently upgraded my Samba server from 3.0.2a to 3.0.14a running on
Solaris 8.
I made the assumption that all my printer definitions would be retained
including driver information/files as long as the share containing all the
files was still there. Although I still see the actual printers in the
list of printers, it seems that they no longer know what drivers they use.
When I attempt to

Hi,
I am having this problem with the uploading of printer drivers to my
Samba server's print$ share:
I am logged in on my Win XP machine as user "root" and connected to the
Samba server as user root. I can access the print$ share and can upload

I can see and select the printer on the Samba Server (in Network

Uploading printer driver
Hi all
I have configured samba as a PDC.
All works perfectly.
The problem is when I upload a printer driver to the server.
If the driver is a "standard" driver (the driver is on the Windows/XP CD)
all is ok.
If the driver is on a floppy or on a CD that comes with the printer, then
the PC where I start the upload return a memory error and the driver is not
uploaded.
Can someone help

uploading printer drivers
Hello,
I'm trying to set up a CentOS 4.4 print server. I've attached a Usb Hp
Deskjet 5150 printer to the box, and printed a test page. This worked fine,
using cups. I then went to the samba howto, classical printer section, and
followed the section for uploading pointprint drivers to the box. My first
problem came when i told the error dialog no, then didn't see a new driver

Uploading Printer Driver Files
Hi,
I'm close to succeeding in uploading new drivers but it just won't
work. I'm running v2.2.1a on a sun box and w2k on the client.
- In my conf file, I've defined a print$ share, an entry in printcap
and put in a definition of the printer.
- I've also added my own user name to the printer admin list
- I've created the directory that print$ points to, created W32X86
