My nut-snmp has forgotten how to speak IETF RFC1628!
[I had a look through the mail archives before sending this, but I
didn't find anyone else having this issue.]
Has anyone seen this before? I'm almost 100% certain I tested this
nut correctly detected OB LB in the past, but when I happened to look
at it today, I see it refusing to work -- apparently because the NUT
client knows how to ask for RFC1628 OIDs, but not what to do with the

2.2.7 and printer status
Hallo Samba-Team,
thank you for 2.2.7.
The only problem I found is an old one:
status of printers served from samba on Windows 2000
I'll try to explain this so clear as possible:
If I have a Windows user "Administrator", which is in Windows
administrative group "Administratoren" and this user is on Samba-side
*mapped* to "root" --> printer status is *ok*.

IMPRINTS: mkprintpkg.pl unable to expand microsoft cab file
Jerry,
Perhaps you could help me with a problem building a Samba print package.
I've downloaded the drivers files I need from HP. I run the appropriate
mkprintpkg.pl command, but it dies with the following output:
[root@tux designjet]# /usr/local/imprints/bin/mkprintpkg.pl
--name="hp1050c" --version=1.00
--display-name="HP DesignJet 1050c" -d "HP DesignJet 1050C

Fwd: Re: Using rpcclient to install printer drivers
Hi all,
This is a re-post of a question I originally submitted 10/22. There have
been no responses, so I am trying again as this problem has us stalled in
our tracks re managing printer drivers with rpcclient.

Different Printer Model for different Arch
Here is a problem I posted to HP's forum on the DesignJet drivers for the
755cm, but something tells me someone clever here has already hacked
around this or a similar printer and might know how to solve my problem:

When installing drivers on a remote Samba server (ie. Windows NT
emulation, and perhaps real NT as well), you are able to install printer
drivers for a printer for various

Fwd: Re: Using rpcclient to install printer drivers
Hi Jerry Carter and list members,
The post below was rejected by the list moderator as too big. That cost me
four days and now I am really anxious for positive feedback from rpcclient
experts either in the field or at samba.org. It was too big because I
included a listing of STDERR and STDOUT from setting debug level to 10 in
step #4 of install_printer_drivers.pl. I have trimmed it down by

HP DesignJet 5000ps and ntforms.tdb
Hello All,
I have come across a problem that I am not sure where to begin:
We have an HP DesignJet 5000 PS 60 wide format printer that is part of
our public printing pool which we share out to the pc world via Samba.
I am using Samba 3.0.11 in RHAS Enterprise Linux, Update 3.
When I install the printer driver onto the server using the Windows APW,
and then install the printer on a fresh

Samba 2.2.5 Printing problem with HP Designjets
Hello,
I sent this request already last week, but got no answer (maybe I did
not use a good subject).
My problem is the following:
I use server side drivers with samba 2.2.5 and cups. I add them usually
with cupsaddsmb. This works quite well, but I have trouble with printers
with really large papersizes. I have some HP Designjet in our Network,
we need for our mechanical engineers, as well as

HP Jetdirect, Intel Netport, Samba, And Windows XP
Hello,
I have a bunch of Windows XP Pro machines, Samba 2.2.4, and several plotters on Jetdirect cards, and several printers on Netport 10/100 Muli-port network print servers.
I have successfully configured Samba 2.2.4 to allow Windows XP to join the domain controlled by Samba and automaticaly create its own computer account on Samba.
I would now like to setup Samba to share all the printers

Samba 2.2.5 and srv_spoolss_nt error
Hi!
I'm having problems with printing with Samba 2.2.5 and WinXP. I have samba
setup as a PDC and have 3 printers: HP LaserJet 5000N, HP LaserJet 8550DN
and HP DesignJet 1055CM. I used WinXP to upload the drivers for the
printers to XP clients and to 98 clients, and all went fine. I downloaded
the lastest PCL6 drivers for the Laserjet printers and the HPGL2/RTL
driver for the Designjet.

Driver installation fails on samba server
Dear list,
since days I am trying to install several HP-drivers from a XP client on
the samba server (DC) - 3.0.28 on OpenSuse 10.3.
Installing the drivers contained in Windows works.
Installing drivers from a disk (e.g. for a Designet 4000) does NOT work.
It says "Driver for Designjet .... could not be installed. Access
denied". It is however creating a directory under W32X86 named

hplips
Yeah, about that... Back in '12, we got a nice HP poster printer. They
don't support Linux, but a co-worker got the .ppd out of the Mac support
file.
I tried it, then I looked at the file in vi... and found it *only*
supported the 24" printer, *not* the 44" printer that we had.
Well, we just bought a replacement, since the old printer was EOL'd. This
time, I went to hplips,

Large Papersizes
Hello,
i use Serverside printerdrivers, and since 2.2.5 it seems to work well,
but on problem remains:
I installed a driver for the HP 750 Designjet with cupsaddsmb. This
drivers works well, but only up to A2. The Printer Properties don't let
me choose larger paper sizes than A2 (I need definitly A1 and A0 ).
I tried to create new forms trough server properties, but it does not
work. Is

jetdirect printer configuration
I am trying to set up a jetdirect plotter in our network (samba server
running un suse linux 6.2).
When I start printing from on of the windows boxes everything seems fine
but the printing files only show up in the spooling directories on the
samba server. The plotter (HP Designjet 650 C) never receives anything.
Here are the relevant parts of my smb.conf and my printcap file:

Printers, aka an old time sysadmin
Well, today, I feel like a real, old time sysadmin. Now, I didn't have to
write a driver in assembly for the printer, but....
We got this huge, 44" HP Designjet z3200ps printer. Only supports Win and
Mac. Fine, I hang it off of one of our servers on a subnet (at $0.96/foot
paper, we're the only ones who print on it....). Then I'm thinking that
all I really need is a .ppd. My
