Around 300 to 400Kb each. I understand that Samba is capable of doing

smbfs input/output error
Hello All, I had a problem with 2.0.3 on RH6.0 (linux) where a mount of an NT server share on my linux machine would mysteriously die after a period of time (a long time? not being used? don't know why, but hours of unuse). I would get an "input/output error" when I tried to do a df later. To get around the problem, I found I needed to "umount" (not smbumount) the

cron.daily and others, not running
Hello there, I've just noticed that scripts in /etc/cron.{daily,weekly,...} are not launched for several weeks (I noticed a `locate` not finding a recently added binary). Exactly, it's since June 02, and `# service cron status` says: Redirecting to /bin/systemctl status crond.service * crond.service - Command Scheduler Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/crond.service; enabled;

This has been asked before but the answers haven't worked for me.I upgraded from 2.2.7 to 3.0.0. I used to connect to Windows sharesusing smbmnt in .bash_profile as a non-root user having chmod 4755smbmnt. Now this doesn't work: - smbmount won't let non-root users run it (even after a chmod) - smbmnt says "Failed to find real path for mount point" - mount -t smbfs says

problem accessing Windows XP as a client
Samba friends, I have a computer running SUSE Linux 10.1. At work all the computers on the network, except this one, are running either Windows 2000 Pro or Windows 2000 Server. The computers are physically connected through a router. I am an administrator on all the Windows computers and have no problem whatsoever mounting administrative shares such as C$ using smbmnt. mounting smbfs
I am having trouble mounting a smbfs mount in redhat 7.3. I have read the man pages for mount,smbmount,smbmnt, but haven't had much luck. I am thinking I am just getting the syntax wrong. If I wanted to mount a system on my network with the ip address of 192.168.0.1, What would the syntax be for this? Any info would be of much help to me, Thank-You
