Manuplating Queue
Hi,
I am implimenting a solution for a radio station where by calls are
first received by an attendant, who interviews the caller and then
places the call in a queue along with some information about the
caller. The radio presenter can then choose which call to pick up
depending on those in the queue.
My question is, how can it be possible for call to skip other calls
in the queue and be picked

constrained optimization using nlm/optim?
I'm looking for an example of a simple R script that impliments a
contrained nonlinear function using nlm or optim. I'm not exactly sure how
to impliment the constraints within the objective function that is passed
to nlm/optim.
obj.func <- function( p ) {
x(p) <- unconstrained obj function value
if( constraint1 > something ) {

Hi guys,
I've planning out my upgrade to CentOS4 and one of my plans for security
is to impliment the mod_security apache module to filter out unwanted
malicious intent.
Not having used it before, I wanted to see if anyone here has
implimented it and did it block any legit traffic or cause resource
traffic/serious slowdowns of their systems?
I've asked on the forum about secure

Forcing an ID on all mountpoints
I'm looking for a way to tag my live feeds via an audio announcement every
30 minutes or so using the Linux install of Icecast.
Some of the feeds I control locally, and other feeds are from remote
locations - so implimenting this must be as painless as possible for each
encoding location.
As of now, the best way I can think of to do this is by running 2
instances of Icecast. Allowing the

I want to use ruby on rails entirely as an xml-rpc web service server.
I.e. it will only be called by clients making xml-rpc requests. What I
want to to is be able to use something like the session[] functionality
for storing session information. However, storing information in the
session[] construct requires that the client be a web browser with

The substitute is?

Why remove terms.inner from R? It's little used, but rather innocuous.
Mostly soapbox:

read the buffer gets filled with 0's. The buffer has not been zero'd and

Conferencing with multiple servers
Hi,
I am trying to join 2 asterisk servers together using a sip channel.
This is so, if a user joins a conference on box A and another user
joins a conference on box B, providing they are in the same conference
room, the two conferences are joined via the sip channel. We only want
to join the conferences together if they have users in them and we
don't want to point all the conferences to

Thanks for the replies.. It looks like there might be 1,000 ways to skin
this cat. I was even looking at the LiquidSoap Harbor code as well- but
