kjournald panic in 2.4.20
Hi, If this is a redundant post I apologize. I am running 2.4.20 on what has been a very stable Athlon machine for months, tried to move a 2 GB file from an ext2 partition to an ext3 and kjournald crashed. Here are the last reminants of my shell scrollback: [*ROOT* mofo /mnt/sda1/mysql/fd 641 ] ll oldmail/ total 2363288 -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 2147483647 Jan 23 18:04 maillog.MYD

The server hang once a week and I found the following my log in /var/log/messages It looks like some ext3 quota problem. Anyone has similar experience ? Any suggestion ? insert_html inserting fragment twice
Has anyone had trouble with inline RJS insert_html with the latest version of Rails? My problem is that insert_html inserts the html fragment twice. For example, render :update do |page| page.insert_html :top, "some_list", "<li>booyow</li>" end would render "<li>booyow</li>" twice. Thanks. -- Posted via

Assertion failure in do_get_write_access() at fs/jbd/transaction.c:746
I guess this could be filed under the 'shot myself in the foot' section, but I figured I'd report it anyways.. Kernel 2.5.50-bk6, x86, preempt, PIIX IDE, ext3 fs. I dd'ed the first part of a ext3 partition to tmp, then mounted it via loopback. (the image passed a fsck, except for warning about corrupt part. table or superblock) I tried to 'cd' into a directory within

prototype: leak with Element.extend
Had a nasty memory leak that was seriously slowing down the browser and eating up a couple megabytes every reload. I was using: $$(''.dyntable'').each(function(elm) { new DynTable(elm) }); To set up my behavior, but discovered that just running: $$(''.dyntable''); Caused the memory leak all by itself. The fix I found for it was to change Element.extend to a

EXT3 deadlock in 2.4.22 and 2.4.23-pre7 - quota related?
Hi all, and particularly Andrew and Stephen, I recently "upgraded' one of my NFS fileservers from (patched)2.4.18 to 2.4.23-pre7 (in order to resolve a HIMEM related memory pressure problem). Unfortunately I have experienced what appears to be a deadlock. The one I will describe was experienced while running 2.4.23-pre7, though I had a very similar problem in 2.4.22 (but

Status of R/W UFS
Is r/w to a UFS partition using 'guestmount' still an impossibility? From everything I've found, it seems to be something that is not possible at the moment. I was just wondering if that has changed or if there are plans to change that? Here is the issue I'm experiencing: ~# guestmount --rw -a ${disk_path}/${disk_name} -m /dev/sda4 /tmp/freebsd-master libguestfs: error:

[PATCH] builder: templates: For RHEL, CentOS >= 7 and all Fedora, default to GPT.
I didn't test this one fully yet, but I'm building Fedora 26 ppc64/le test images now. However it seems like it could be a good idea. I wonder if anyone depends on the images we supply being MBR-based? Rich.

extlinux reports "./extlinux: path /media/disk doesn't match device /dev/sda4"
Hello list, in a previous post I mentioned I had managed to make USB-Stick with 2048 byte sectors bootable. In fact I wiped out my Linux partitions bootrecord. This was with an old version of extlinux as still distributed by openSuSE. Interestingly enough the current version syslinux-3.61-pre2, spares my hard disk, but still seems to live under the impression it is the USB stick. The setup is

EXTLINUX: Reading the extlinux.conf but can't find Kernel
Hi Folks, OK - I'm not entirely new to Linux but I'm certainly not great on the boot process. What I'm trying to achieve is to boot from an external USB HDD (not flash drive) using EXTLINUX. I've run an installation against the disk using a VM. The disk was partitioned as follows: /dev/sda1 = /boot (bootable) /dev/sda2 =/swap /dev/sda3=/ (i.e. root) /dev/sda4=/dos sda1 and 3

Assertion failure in do_get_write_access() at transaction.c:737: "(((jh2bh(jh)) on a 2.4.18-14 (RH8.0) kernel while experiencing SCSI errors
Hi, I use ext3 over RAID1+0 LUN. When I disconnect my fiber cable to the RAID (in order to force a migration to a failover node) I expect to see I/O errors and then a failure to write/read to the filesystem, but in addition I get an Assertion failure. The end result is of course an unusable system which needs to be rebooted. (I reboot the system via machine_restart which works okay but I guess
