registry vulnerabilities in R
Kirtland Air Force Base has denied approval for the use of R on its
Windows network. Some of their objections seem a bit strange, but some
appear to be legitimate. In particular, they have detected registry
"vulnerabilities"
which are detailed in the attachment.
I know nothing about Windows registry vulnerabilities. If any of these
issues are
legitimate concerns,

Re: virt-v2v: Died at /usr/bin/virt-p2v-server line 411
Thanks for providing the SOFTWARE and SYSTEM hives. Firstly the
SOFTWARE hive has an unusually large 'nk' node, which required me to
increase one of the limits in hivex:

The SYSTEM hive was even more interesting:

SPOOLSV and XP PRO
Hi All
I recently began having issues where there would be a runaway SMBD
process listed in TOP, having a Pri of around 25, and using 70 to 95%
CPU indefinitely.
IPTRAF reports around 600kbps constantly in and out from the subject
workstation, with nothing going on - on the workstation. This traffic
is parallel to the runaway SMBD process ... the traffic dies when the
SMBD process is

Hi everyone,
I am at my wits end and am hoping one of you can help me out.

FreeBSD 4.5, Samba 2.2.4_1, W2K client "printer properties cannot be displayed"
Hello, I have a FreeBSD 4.5-RELEASE box running the SAMBA 2.2.4_1 port. I
have successfully added a printer driver to the unit, and when connecting
from a Windows 2000 client, I get the driver successfully installed. I then
converted the system to a PDC and added a test machine to it's domain. I can
connect to the printer, it downloads drivers, but when I choose printer
properties, I get:

I've experienced something like this, as well. Though I don't know if this
will help, I would make sure that your NT username(s) are appropriately
mapped to unix users. You may not be able to view the properties because
the permissions/mapped user are mixed up. You can check this by doing a
smbstatus - the user names listed as connected are the unix usernames that
have been mapped to.

Can't run Active State perl .exe
I am having trouble running an exe that was written in Active State perl.
In Windows, I would go to the CLI and type
Code:
C:\pager\pager.exe cl
Passing "cl" as an arguement that passes the file "cl.config" to the pager.exe program.
I have not had any success running this in Wine, and I do not know if it is a syntax problem or if Wine does not work with it.
I have tried:

Dreaded ERROR 5 In Robocopy
I'm still battling the dreaded "ERROR 5 (0x00000005)" error when trying to
robocopy files from a W2K box to Samba 3.0.7 on FreeBSD.
I've been fighting this since Samba 2.2.8 and the upgrade hasn't fixed it
for me despite the entries in the changlelog.
Now here's the strange part. If robocopy is sending NEW files, files which
are on W2K but not on the Samba box, the copy

Re: the dreaded error Before updating scaffolding from new D
Hi Derek,
I was getting this too, with three tables, called taxa,
databases and references
I found I could add an irregular pluralisation for taxa:
Inflector.inflections do |inflect|
inflect.irregular ''taxon'', ''taxa''
end
to the environment.rb, but no amount of modification there would
allow databases and

Dreaded RTNETLINK answers: Invalid argument
Hi All,
We are running a 2.4.20 kernel, with the htb modules loaded, and are
receiving the RTNETLINK error when trying to filter on handles. We also
have the latest tc downloaded from htb site, and verified it is the
executable being executed. We have tracked it to the {handle 1 fw}
portion.
Hardware is 4501 Soekris and WISP-Dist latest, patched with latest tc.
Any ideas on what would cause

This number is coincidentally what you would get by reading 0d 0d. I'll have to check the offsets.

This one might actually be zero, before running the reset minmax command (which also takes a few seconds to be processed). The min/max

Dreaded "Can't become connected User!" error
I have a dozen or more Samba 3.0x servers running, most using the tdbsam backend, but some still on the smbpasswd backend. All of the servers are RedHat, some v9, some ES3 and two are ES4.
All "seem" to be running fine, but every one of them has their log file filled with these errors.

dreaded p-val for d^2 of a glm / gam
OK,
I really dread to ask that .... much more that I know some discussion about p-values and if they are relevant for regressions were already on the list. I know to get p-val of regression coefficients - this is not a problem. But unfortunately one editor of a journal where i would like to publish some results insists in giving p-values for the squared deviance i get out from different glm and
