similar to: does rpcclient support ntlmv2?

I've seen various notes on this subject, but can't find a definitive answer. Does rpcclient support NTLMv2 authentication ? i.e if the AD server is setup to send NTLMv2 responses only (and reject LM and NTLM) can I still connect with rpcclient ? thanks for any info or pointers

I keep hoping for better wasy to remotely manage windows machines through samba. In the very old samba-tng there was an rpcclient that could connect to a remote machine and do various things like read/write the registry, grab event logs, etc. I could never get it to work very well and waited for a better one. The trouble is the rpcclient program in samba-current doesn't have these features.

Is it possible to point rpcclient at a samba PDC and change the user's password? With rpcclient I can "logon" to the PDC as someone with admin privilages (to do adddriver, etc..) from a remote machine. smbpasswd -r seems to provide no similiar functionality.

I think the problem is that your icecast is wrong configured. If it has an configuratrion error that dows not shut it down at startup, it takes 99,9% cpu usage (thats my problem with, for example, a wrong path to configuration file at startup, or something like this). I was able to query DFS via rpcclient but now I find that I am unable to. I know that SMB3 was introduced in Win2012 but I believe that it should auto-negotiate earlier versions.
