kernel: blk_cloned_rq_check_limits: over max segments limit., Device Mapper Multipath, iBFT, iSCSI COMSTAR
Hi, WARNING: Long post ahead I have an issue when starting multipathd. The kernel complains about "blk_cloned_rq_check_limits: over max segments limit". The server in question is configured for KVM hosting. It boots via iBFT to an iSCSI volume. Target is COMSTAR and underlying that is a ZFS volume (100GB). The server also has two infiniband cards providing four (4) more paths over SRP

[PATCH] btrfs: fix d_off in the first dirent
Since the d_off in the first dirent for "." (that originates from the 4th argument "offset" of filldir() for the 2nd dirent for "..") is wrongly assigned in btrfs_real_readdir(), telldir returns same offset for different locations. | # mkfs.btrfs /dev/sdb1 | # mount /dev/sdb1 fs0 | # cd fs0 | # touch file0 file1 | # ../test | telldir: 0 | readdir: d_off = 2,

Can i manage part of a file ..
Can I use puppet to ensure that a file includes certain text but not be required to maintain the entire file? For example, I would like /etc/modprobe.conf to contain the following lines but the file will also contain lines that are system dependent. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- # Disable IPV6 alias net-pf-10 off alias ipv6 off

BUG in fs/ext3/dir.c
Hello When using readdir() on a directory with many files or long file names it can happen that it returns the same file name twice. Attached is a program that demonstrates this. I have traced this problem back to linux-2.6.10-rc1-bk18 and all kernels after this one are effected. linux-2.6.10-rc1-bk17 is still okay. If I reverse the following patch in linux-2.6.10-rc1-bk18, readdir() works again

Boot Failed: please change disks...
I had to create a single floppy image holding the kernel and initrd of SuSe8.0 distibution. When I boot the computer, it first loads the kernel, and starts loading the initrd. After a short while it halts saying ?Boot Failed: please change disks and press a key to continue.? The floppy image is served by a PXE server, so I am not sure if the problem I am facing has anything to do with ?bad

BUG + FIX in smbprint
Dear Samba Team, the smbprint script as provided with Suse7.2 for Samba Version 2.2.0 did not work. The problem was that the file to be printed was not transfered via stdin after the print - command. I changed the smbprint script to pass the commands via the -c option. My changes and comments are marked with MR27092001MR in the smbprint attached. I did not find this in the lists, so I hope this

ext3 involved in kernel panic in 2.6.13?
Dual Opteron system running ext3 atop drbd (network RAID) devices, which, in turn, are atop LVM logical volumes. The underlying device is hardware SCSI RAID via a LSILogic HBA. The kernel is vanilla 2.6.13 on a Gentoo-based system. A panic occurred, which contains references to ext3 code. I'm not sure how others manage to get these typed out, but I'm manually typing it from

with heavy VM IO, clocksource causes random dom0 reboots
On Debian Squeeze (2.6.32-5) running Xen 4.0, I have created 2 Ubuntu Lucid Lynx (Ubuntu 10.04) vms. The vms, in a stress test, pass a large file between them via nfs file sharing. A previous entry in this forum helped to establish that some ethernet cards improve VM IO performance. However, our box installed with better intel nics is still rebooting under heavy VM IO loads. The kernel call

[PATCH 05/15] ocfs2: Pass raw u64 to filldir
filldir_t can take this, so don't turn de->inode into a 32 bit value. Right now this doesn't make a difference since no ocfs2 inodes overflow that, but it could be a nasty surprise later on if some kernel code is calling ocfs2_dir_foreach_blk() and expecting real inode numbers back... Sound Problems with Wine and ALSA
I've been trying to fix this for a couple of weeks now without any luck. I'm hoping someone here can offer some help. I Replaced my mainboard and CPU about a month ago. The new board has on-board sound as did my old mainboard, but the new board uses an Intel8x0 sound chip, the old board had a Yamaha YMFPCI chipset. Because of the difference in sound systems I needed to rebuild the

PROBLEM: Filesystem became readonly, then kernel crashes on shutdown
Hi All, I just had "an issue" with my Linux 2.6.1 kernel. While working, I tried to rf -rf a directory, and was told my filesystem was mounted readonly (which it wasn't). I then shut the machine down, and on shutdown, I got a "kernel BUG at fs/ext3/super.c: 411". Full report below: Mike [1.] One line summary of the problem: Filesystem became readonly, then
