Samba experts, Ok, we are having so many problems getting ldap to work, we decided to start over with our compile. We are compiling Samba --with-ldap on our AIX 5.1 system which uses gcc. Openldap (for client support) exists in /usr/local/openldap/2.2.17. In order for Samba to find the ldap.h file, we had to configure with CPPFLAGS="-I/usr/local/openldap/2.2.17/include"

I'm trying to get Samba 3.0.4.0 to run on AIX 5.2 and I am fighting a "Dependent module libldap.a could not be loaded" bug. I have IBM's version of LDAP installed but it doesn't have a libldap.a file. Is there a version of Samba that will run on AIX 5.2 that doesn't use LDAP? Hi, I have a box running Mandrake 8.2 and samba 2.2.4 on an NT domain. smbpasswd -j says it joins the domain ok, I use the included sys-auth-windbind file for pam, and the winbind entries are in nsswitch.conf.
