1.0.12-2 for IA64 Redhat AS2.1 e.43
We are pleased to announce the release of OCFS 1.0.12-2 for IA64 Redhat AS2.1 e.43 kernel. Due to Kernel ABI incompatibility between < e.43 and e.43, 1.0.12-1 does not load on e.43. It errors out with a list of missing symbols. The rpms can be downloaded from http://oss.oracle.com/projects/ocfs/files/RedHat/RHAS2.1/ia64/ Click on 1.0.12-2. Other than a build with the newer kernel, there are

new devices for ocfs
Hello, RHAS 2.1 ocfs -1.0.12.1 We have to exchange our current disksystem (from /dev/sdbX to /dev/emcpowera). Planned is to create partitons with the same name like on the old device and then simply copy the files to the new device. Question is now whether there is any impact (similar to change of NIC) on configuration, etc? As far as i know ocfs saves device-informations only in the volume

CentOS 7 install on one RAID 1 [not-so-SOLVED]
Let me see if I can, um, reboot this thread.... I made a RAID 1 of two raw disks, /dev/sda and /dev/sdb, *not* /dev/sdax /dev/sdbx. Then I installed CentOS 7 on the RAID, with /boot, /, and swap being partitions on the RAID. My problem is that grub2-install absolutely and resolutely refuses to install on /dev/sda or /dev/sdb. I've currently got it up in a half-assed rescue mode, and have

iSCSI disk preperation
I am currently going through the process of installing/configuring an iSCSI target and cannot find a good write up on how to prepare the disks on the server. I would like to mirror the two disks and present them to the client. Mirroring isn't the question, its how I go about it is the problem. When I partitioned the two drives and mirrored them together, then presented them to the client,

Boot USB:SATA:Partition4 from USBstik?
I want to be able to make a USBbootStik for my laptop, as I repeatedly did for the now stolen PC. I've got a copy of the required 2009, Slackware13 partition, saved to a USBdisk. And I've located the 175-line: <make bootStik script> . Of course just "chroot"ing Slak13, won't allow <make bootStik>. But why can't someone here, provide the info to make an

Adding a new disk to an existing raid 10
Dear all, I'm not used to handling software raid. I've inherited a server which has raid 10 set. one of our disks failed, and it's to be replaced today. My question is; any hint how to add this new disk to the existing raid array ? first thought is :- Create identical partitions as other disks in the array i'd like to add it to.- add it to raid. Though i'm extremely worried of

Samba4 alpha >20 version: Samba & smbd daemons !
In Samba4 alpha 21 and 22 Smbd daemon has to be run except Samba daemon to get access to your shared NetBios resources (folders) .That is in case of alpha versions after 20, Samba daemon starts in its own smbd daemon automatically and with with some parameters such as --configfile and --foreground (but without -D parametr that is not as daemon) .After Samba is started there are 2 processes: Samba

3.0.20 usermap script execution
I have created a mapusers.bash script (listed below) for mapping Active Directory handles to unix logins. This script is currently working as documented. I would like some insight into how and when this script gets called. I assumed that upon establishing each samba connection, after the active directory handle gets authenticated with the domain controller it passes the domain\handle to this

Menu.c32 hangs when localboot 0
Hello all, I am trying to setup a menu to boot into various windows/linux options and also local boot using pxe. The following is the menu I am using. I tested various options and all worked fine except the localboot. If I choose localboot option the menu leads to pxe of the second nic on the system and then hangs. Anyone has a clue what's happening. Any help would be appreciated

**££!!*** Proliant!
This Proliant (ml330 G3) has an HP CSB-6 (LSI/Megaraid) disk controller that isn't recognised by the installer. A quick search on Google reveals drivers from RH7 - AS2.1 but nothing for 3 or 4 unless anyone knows different!? If not I'll just have to disable it and install a supported RAID card. Anyone!? Nigel

Samba 3beta2/3 with ldapsam as PDC dont advice itself
Hi, i have a problem with samba3 (with ldapsam). I've set up my samba3 beta2 (also tried beta3) as a pdc, but it seems that samba does not anounce it's DOMAIN correctly. I don't see my JOCHENGROUP Domain from any Windows-Workstation. I can search for the name of my PDC using the 'Search Computer' Function and Windows will find it. I can doubleclick the PDC and login using

Cannot rename file
Hi I've upgraded my OS from Redhat AS2.1 to Redhat AS4. The samba upgraded from samba-2.2.7-3.21as to samba-3.0.10-1.4E.9. I use this only to see the Linux filesystem as a drive on my PC. The problem is that I cannot rename a file. Put, Get and Copy works fine. The error I get (after about 30 sec) is any of the following (no specific pattern): "Cannot rename filename:
