samba 4.1 roaming profiles
I'm configuring a new samba 4.1 server with NT4 style domain. I've copied most of the configuration from our working 3.6 server, making some changes as needed for the newer samba version. So far, I have been unable to get roaming profiles to work. It seems like the users cannot write in the profiles directory, but I don't see why not. Here is the relevant part of smb.cond [global]

Everything looks fine last Friday but today the clients did not longer save changes to the profiles. There is no error in samba log and also no in the windows log. If I delete a profile from a client it is loaded correctly at next logon, but the changes are not saved at logout. Windows XP

Vista roaming profiles...
Hi everybody, after many weeks of searching/trying, I still can't manage to get vista to use/save roaming profiles with samba as PDC... It has apparently worked a few times in the beginning since the profiles directories are populated. Could it be related to a Vista update or SP1? Here's what I did so far: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System]

Samba roaming profile with folder redirection
Hi, I have a domain controller which was configured to use the local profiles. We have a relatively small group whose work required it. Now we are moving toward using the domain for all machine with roaming profile. There are a lot of posts dealing with the roaming profiles and the folder redirection. But I've met some issues. My configuration: NS3 and SMB are hostnames of our servers.

Roaming Profiles & oplocks problems
I'm running FreeBSD 5.4-STABLE with Samba 3.0.20 configured as a PDC serving a small-ish network (10 XP hosts). My problem concerns roaming profiles - some XP clients take ages to logon and logoff. On doing some Googling I identified the 'profile acls' parameter as being a likely fix. However, I seem to have got myself into one of two scenarios: a) With 'profile acls'

We use roaming profiles, but because of problems with different operating systems and the profile size, we want to use locale profiles. I tried to change logon path in smb.conf in an emty string, but no changes, if I delete this entry in smb.conf, samba use a default value and this is on the server. So I tried to change

Vista won't copy roaming profile to server
Hello, fresh installed Samba 3.024 o Debian system as PDC with roaming profiles. Vista only creates user.V2 in [profiles] but not copy profile after logoff. Directory is writable and XP works good. Any ideas? Thanks. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Vista-won%27t-copy-roaming-profile-to-server-tp21910084p21910084.html Sent from the Samba - General mailing list archive at
