Greetings, I've a need to run 2 instances on one box. I've spent the better part of 2 days looking for docs and howto's and reading the FM. However, I think I'm making too much out of it, thinking that there is more to it than there really is. the first instance is to serve the users, the second instance is for the backup system. I just noticed that by running by commands /usr/sbin/smbd -D or /usr/sbin/smbd -i without systemd's unit, all shares work perfectly so the problem must then be somehow related to systemd.. Hi, I finally was able to to get samba/winbind to authenticate off W2k3 Active Directory. I seen a lot of info on the web on how to do this but I never seem to have one site that got me through it all.
