Hi All,
I had been doing some testing with the Debian 3.0.4-x versions of samba.
On two sepearte systems, running different configs, I've found that smbd
panics unless the [printers] section is removed from smb.conf. Errors
generated as follows...

CUPS setup with 3.0.3pre1
Hello,
I am currently trying to setup Samba 3.0.3pre1 to share my freshly
installed LaserJet. I have NOT had any printer until now, so I can't
tell you if the behavior was different before 3.0.3pre1.
The problem:
My smb.conf contains:
> [global]
> ## Printing
> load printers = yes
> printcap name = cups
> printing = cups
> [printers]

Assistance needed on using mount.smbfs (cifs) to authenticate to samba server with encrypt passwords = No.
Greetings,
I am working on getting mount.cifs version: 1.11-3.2.4 on debian to
mount a share on a samba server Version 3.0.13-1.1-SUSE on SuSe. This
was working on older debian systems, but upon upgrading some of the
systems to Lenny I am now having trouble mounting shares. Again, this
was working and I have smbfs installed on the systems (which is what I
used before).
The samba server is set

Question about mount.cifs and smbclient
Hi!
I have a problem for a few weeks, and can't figure out what could be the
problem.
The client computer runs RHEL 5.2 (arch: x64_64); the smb server is
unknown for us.
I'm sorry, that I can't provide any info (usernames, servernames, IPs,
etc), they are masked to look like variables. But they are correct as
far as i am concerned.
When I try to mount it with mount.cifs (.smbfs

Print Problem - printcap file cups
I am using samba-2.2.7-3.7.2 on a redhat 7.2 server with an attached
printer which is run by CUPS. It worked OK until I upgraded to
samba-2.2.7-3.7.2. Now I can print locally on the server machine, but
not from the windows machines on the LAN.
The error message on the windows box is " Unable to create a print
job." Another error, produced daily when samba is "re-initialized"

Just tried to compile WINE on opensuse 11 64bit. I did everything as described here: WineOn64bit - The Official Wine Wiki (http://wiki.winehq.org/WineOn64bit#head-b3c0054e075385ab599d63a46dba9d6c3934d6c0)
But running the configure script I'm getting that message:

That means that the printer output isn't

CUPS printing on Fedora with 3.0.2 RPMs
I have upgraded my Fedora Core 1 file server from the distribution
supplied 3.0.0 RPMS to the Fedora/Samba 3.0.2 RPMS I found on the Samba
Web Site.
After doing this, printers are not be recognized or shared.
When I restarted the server this message showed up in
/var/log/samba/log.smbd:

Making TIMEOUT work?
I have problems getting the TIMEOUT value work the same way LILO/GRUB
does it.. ie it should wait until the timeout and then use the default
value. However, it goes straight for the default value without waiting
a single second (and a TIMEOUT value of 500 should mean 50 seconds,
as it counts in 1/10th of a second, right?)

samba on NetBSD - some patches
Hi,
We (NetBSD) just received a bug report that smbclient's mput command usees
find(1) with a non-standard option "-maxdepth". This was replaced with a
simple call to ls(1). As I don't know how many of the patches from out
Packages Collection were sent to you in the past, I'm simply sending you
all our patches - please include any you like in future samba releases!
BTW,
