samba quotas
Hi guys, we need to update our samba service from 2.2.8a to samba 3.0.x
(so that we
can upgrade our AD from Win2k to Win2k3). The problem I am having is
with the quotas.
We mount user home directories NFS and then export them to Windows users
via samba.
In 2.2.8a I was able to get quotas working. However with samba 3.0.x, I
cannot.
I compiled --with-quotas.
Now when a user uses a 3.0

Does quota-status respect quota_grace?
Hello,
I have Dovecot 2.2.9 from Debian repository running on AMD64, ext4
filesystem for mail storage. Each mailbox has its own system user,
quotas are enforced by file system. Quota settings in configuration are
as follows (from doveconf -n):
quota = fs:Domain quota:group:inode_per_mail
quota2 = fs:Mailbox quota:user:inode_per_mail
quota2_grace = 18%%
quota_grace = 18%%

Help: dfree command
Hi folks,
I'm trying to use a custom dfree command to have my Samba share reports
accurate disk usage, here my dfree script (I pretty much copied it right
off the smb.conf man page)
#!/bin/sh
/bin/df -k $1 | tail -1 | awk '{print $2" "$4}'
In smb.conf, I included this line:
dfree command = /usr/local/admin/samba-2.2.4/bin/dfree
This dfree command is root owned,

Getting second quota limit out of database
Hello there,
I am working with dovecot v2.2.12, and have setup a user and domain
quota by using a quota/quota_rule for user and quota2/quota2_rule for
the domain.
This works fine when the limit configuration for both is stored inside
dovecot configuration files. However, I would like to have the limits
configurable on a user and domain base, and that data is stored inside
my SQL database.

lprm command not getting called.
I have configured Samba on both a RH Linux 7.2 box and Solaris 8 box and am
not able to remove print jobs. The lprm command is not getting called. I
know that for a fact because I changed lprm command to equal a script which
will log when it is called. And that script is never called. There are no
errors in any log files - system or samba.
The printing parts of the smb.conf file are:

Incorrect disk size reported at 20.0 MB
All,
I'm recently seeing an issue with how Samba is reporting
the disk space available from a NFS share. Checking the
properties from a PC system displays all mapped network
drives as having 20.0 MB size with zero free disk space
available. We updated to Samba version 3.0.11 this morning
with no change in results. I have checked the bug reports
and haven't found anything that resembles

Disk size on share with multiple partitions
Hi list,
I am exporting share which has a small base partition into which several
much larger partitions are mounted. Which are used by different user groups.
My problem is, that windows takes the size of the base partition to be
the size of the whole share.
If I try to copy anything larger than the base partion into a partition
that is actually larger Windows reports insuffient disk size

[PATCH][BTRFS-PROGS][V3] btrfs filesystem df
Hi Chris,
this serie of patches updated the command "btrfs filesystem
df". I update this command because it is not so easy to get
the information about the disk usage from the command "fi df" and "fi show".
This patch was the result of some discussions on the btrfs
mailing list. Many thanks to all the contributors.
From the man page (see 2nd patch):

Hi, I have a problem with Samba from last week. Our
SMB server( Debian Linux 2.2.12, samba 2.0.5a) was
working very well since october 99. We didn't do any
changes with our SMB server sw or hw configuration.
There is my problem: content of samba log file:

BTRFS, getting darn slower everyday
Hi,
I have 4 machines, all converted to BTRFS about 6 months ago, now all
running Ubuntu Quantal with kernel 3.5.0-17
The matter is that all these machines are now getting slower and slower
everyday, every disk access causing the disk to be 100% busy for long
periods, to the point that I''m now seriously considering migrating
everything back to ext4...
From the start BTRFS was "not
