Hello all, I want to copy all files on the SRC side to the DST side without deleteing any from the DST side. However, whenever I run rsync the files on the DST side are deleted if they were deleted from the SRC side. What am I doing wrong? I am running the following command: ======================================================== rsync -avz --progress --force --delete-excluded

winbindd stays at 100% CPU having joined a domain
[ Please would anyone replying to this maintain the Cc list here as my dear colleague is not subscribed to this mailing list. ] Hello all, I am trying to track down an oddity with winbindd. We're using samba only to join a given domain -- so the config file is very minimal, as per: [global] workgroup = TEDDYBEARS netbios name = SMOOTHWALL realm = TEDDYBEARS.LOCAL security = ads

NTLM protocol/multiple DCs
I'm trying to modify the typical Squid/ntlm_auth/winbindd arrangement to support authenticating to multiple independent domains. I have a prototype solution but would like to know if it would work in the general case. (I used http://davenport.sourceforge.net/ntlm.html as a reference for the NTLM protocol.) In the prototype I have multiple instances of winbindd and ntlm_auth with a

Netbios name resolution with DHCP
I have a network with RH7.2 (netbois name "server"), Mandrake 8.1 ("Linuxbox"), Smoothwall ("Smoothwall"), WinNT ("di-bosco"), Win 98 ("robertw" & "Nicole") x 2 and Win 2k ("DiBosco2k"). Smoothwall is the DHCP server. Why would it be that all the Windows machines can ping to a netbios name, eg ping server, ping Linuxbox

Considering you use mozilla-thunderbird 0.7. I suggest you try using the spell check facility. It might make your message understandable, and why run Tbird with Wine.? chronyd configuration as a local ntp server
'Modern' NTP allows for all sorts of updates to NTP servers, with all sorts of attacks. So to prevent even local hosts from making changes to your NTP server, there is the restrict instead of allow command. Its intent is to limit what the server will accept from a host in the address range instead of allowing any command from within that range. I use this on my Centos6 servers. I

Re: Can't get cable connection working on virtual router machine
Can you please drop a rough diagram here? I think you are routing through this VM and must have shared the host interface. - ajey On Tue, Sep 1, 2015 at 7:39 AM, Phill Edwards <philledwards at gmail.com> wrote: > I'm pretty new to KVM and have a KVM CentOS 7.1 hypervisor running a few > VMs. I'm moving all my VMs from an ESXi host as I want to use KVM in > future. I would like to use Centos if possible, but I need somthing that has a GUI so they can easily make changes and updates. It would have to be ip based or mac address. What would you suggest. I have looked a Ipcop and smoothwall as solutions so far. Thanks

chronyd configuration as a local ntp server
AFAIK the only thing needed to make your host an NTP server using chrony is to set the allow line to the network address in CIDR format of the network you want to be served, and uncomment it. The restart chronyd. You also need to ensure that port 123 (NTP) is open to your internal network on your filrewall. I have a CentOS 6 box that is an NTP server for my network. CentOS 7 works the same

Can't get cable connection working on virtual router machine
I'm pretty new to KVM and have a KVM CentOS 7.1 hypervisor running a few VMs. I'm moving all my VMs from an ESXi host as I want to use KVM in future. Most of my VMs are working except for one which is running a Sophos UTM router (Sophos UTM is similar to products like pfSense <https://www.pfsense.org/>, Smoothwall <http://www.smoothwall.org/> etc). The host has 3 physical NICs

does you cable modem give you automatically the IP address? if thats the case then you need to do bridge configuration between nic3 and macvtap dhcp ip and then you will be able to get dhcp attached IP to sophos vm - ajey On Tue, Sep 1, 2015 at 4:33 PM, Phill Edwards <philledwards@gmail.com> wrote: > Hi, I'm not sure what sort of diagram you mean, but I'll have a try. Hi Phil, But you said you disabled firewalld which makes me wonder if you have the necessary forwarding rules active.
