Fun Wine Project -- Configure Some Default Registry Entries
I've begun working on this to import some native calls into wine. More
specifically, OpenOffice.org. I'm trying to get Lotus Notes attachments to
display proper icons, and open natively with OOo.
I've come across a dilemma. I can't seem to "easily" open a Windows path,

Strange ups.load and battery.temperature with an APC Back-UPS RS 800 (NUT v2.2.2)
Hello!!
I have a APC Back-UPS RS 800 and I'm using NUT v2.2.2 on a PowerPC
powered NAS.
With WinNut, I found the ups.load value strange, so I've done a "upsc
ups" and got this results:

battery.charge.warning: 50

MSVC TerminalServer Speed
Hi,
Back in 1997 the list was full of tips on making Microsoft Visual C++ Studio
(v6) use files over Samba (v2.2.2 on Solaris). Could someone please point me
to the definitive answers... (beyond speed.txt?) and their current status.
We have an added complication of having 5 developers using each NT4 box over
citrix/Terminalserver. Some days we are fine, but some days we slow to a
crawl of over a

Always Ringing
Hi all,
I am using chan_h323 from Asterisk CVS to interconnect with GNUGK
v2.2.2. Then I made call from a H323 EP, thru GNUGK, to SIP EP on
Asterisk. However, I only heard ringing when the call was answered on
SIP side. Below is the debug from chan_h323. Any help is welcome.
Thanks.

Allow - disallow bug?
Hi all
Firewall is Linux SLES8 kernel 2.4.21-278-default with 2 interfaces, fixed
IP addresses on LAN and Internet (INT, WAN), NAT from LAN to INT
(Masquerading-SNAT). Shorewall is v2.2.2.
I am trying to allow access from LAN to Internet for all workstations EXCEPT
for some of them. Default policy is REJECT LAN to INT traffic, so rule
created in /etc/shorewall/rules is:

error: _IceTransSocketUNIXConnect: Cannot connect to non-local host [hostname]
When launching oowriter and other apps, I get this error:
_IceTransSocketUNIXConnect: Cannot connect to non-local host myh.dom.tld
The app -- oowriter or whatever I happen to be invoking-- starts okay.
But this error message tells me something's not right.
Curiously, the "hostname" command yields "myhost", but "hostname -f"

ProxyARP in a Routed environment
Hi,
In a routed network setup , is it possible to use ProxyARP given the condition that the shorewall
external interface and the DMZ interface are in a completely different network . That means the gateway of the External interface and the hosts in ProxyARPed DMZ zones are in different network.

Problem with large files corrupting during transfer
I'm very new to Samba, and I'm supporting my team's migration to a new
server. We are running v3.0.23b, ML3 and AIX v5.3, and we're pulling
data from NT servers. V2.2.2 (what we are using on the old server) would
not compile on the new box, so we have to upgrade.
Files >2.8gb are corrupting during the transfer. That 2.8gb file is the
largest we've gotten to go through

saving files from Office to Samba share (not NFS'd)
Hi all,
I'm having problems saving files from Office 2000 to any Samba share on
our Slackware 7.1 box running Samba v2.2.2
When I go to File>Save As in Word, then select the mapped drive (samba
share - drive X), I get this message:
"The Folder 'X:\' isn't accessible. The folder may be located on an
unavailable volume or protected with a password."

Updating the development process
Fellows,
As I recently told, we will change the development process to focus on
the real changes, and not on backporting changes from one branch to
another.
We will gain a lot in terms of time between releases, and development
efficiency.
In this new process:
- we will only work on the trunk for the day to day bugfixing and
standard modifications (what was mostly happening in Testing
currently),
