SGI XFS 1.0.2a, ACLs and samba 2.2.3a with win2k perms
Hi,
I haven't been able to find any doco that explicity states whether it is
supported, so I am hoping someone out there can answer the following
questions:
Is it possible for a folder/file in a samba share to have win2k security
permissions assigned to it? For example, I want my samba server to
participate in an existing Win2k domain. I want users to be able to set
their own

samba with acl's, acl's in but not working
I have installed Redhat 8.0 with the Sgi xfs rpm kernel running. I also
recompiled the srpm from Redhat's ftp site with acl support. I have a
partition called data that was formatted in xfs. I can do a getfacl and
it works on the directories and seems to be working. I am trying to
change the permission's from a windows machine logged in as root but
nothing seems to work. When I

rights to change ACL's
Hi all,
Installation: RH7.2, 2.4.18 kernel, XFS patch, samba-2.2.4 in windows
2000 domain environment. Authentification is done through winbind daemon. I
want only particular users (say, group "Domain Admins") have the ability to
change permissions (ACL's), not the owners of file/directory. Is it possible
to implement this?

Preserving Windows ACL's
Hi all,
I have Samba 3.0.2a running on my Crux Linux server which is a member of my
Active Directory and authenticating as such. I have POSIX ACL's setup on
XFS filesystems, everything is working great and extended ACL's are working
just fine. Currently however I cannot seem to preserve ACL's when I copy a
file from an existing Windows 2000 server to my samba mount. If I copy

a request for a doc to get acl's working....
dear people,
I've searched for hours, and I really can't seem to find *THE*
solution.
Is there a document somewhere that outlines how to get acl editing to
work from windows?
getfacl and setfacl all work, I can change whatever I want from the
command line when I'm root. Using xfs, samba3.0.11 with ldap, and in
my ldap is administrator. (because I thought

PDC & ACL's
hi,
i want to use samba 3.0.5 as PDC for w98, w2k, XP with windows acl's. so,
i've a few questions:
- is there a comprehensive doc describing this (i know the std. samba docs)
- do i need a filesystem supporting acl's (xfs) to get this ?
if the server is used by win clients only. (no nfs)
- if i need a special fs, which one is to be prefered ?
TIA

1 for the shares using xfs
Most of the threads and articles I read about doing this told me that I
had to recompile the kernel for acl support. Then I found a post that
mention that XFS has built in ACL support. Which

Does control of NFS4 ACL's from NetApps work for RHEL Samba servers with Windows XP clients at all?
Good morning!
I'm reviewing some corporate storage setups involving NetApps, where
the NetApp stores what they call "UNIX Qtrees". So far, so good: those
allow the setting of access to the data with NFS4 ACL's, which are
fairly sophisticated and allow multiple groups or even multiple users
to be granted write access.or read access, besides the normal UNIX
group owner. That works

Samba on Linux with no ACL's is making things tough
Please for give me if this gets a bit long.
I am presently in the process of moving my company's file server from
Windows NT 4.0 over to Linux with SAMBA and the lack of ACL support in
the ext2 filesystem is making things very difficult to design. To
clarify I am NOT writing about Samba's support for NT ACL's on NTFS. I
am writing to possibly get some tips for getting around the lack

Replicated and Non Replicated Bricks on Same Partition
Gluster-Users,
We currently have a 30 node Gluster Distributed-Replicate 15 x 2
filesystem. Each node has a ~20TB xfs filesystem mounted to /data and
the bricks live on /data/brick. We have been very happy with this
setup, but are now collecting more data that doesn't need to be
replicated because it can be easily regenerated. Most of the data lives
on our replicated volume and is

Samba installation - "execvp - permission denied" problem - Plz help
Hi there,
I have installed samba-2.2.2 on Redhat linux 7.0 . I have setup the whole
server properly and have run the ./configure, make and make install commands
successfully. I have even written a basic smb.conf file which is located in
/etc/samba . The testparm on the conf file shows no errors. i have checked
the /etc/services file for the netbios services and they are all done
properly

file permissions with inherit permission + ACL's
Hi,
I have a share (testshare) where different unix groups (testgroup1,
testgroup2) should have access to. But I want that new files are only

# group: ve
user::rwx
group::rwx
group:testgroup1:rwx
group:testgroup2:rwx

Samba4 with AD + Linux ACL's - permission problem
Hi experts,
I have a Samba4/AD scenario which is driving me crazy.
On some servers, I have the same volume mounted on /share. I am using some
different servers as gateways to export this content using HTTP, NFS, FTP
and CIFS. AD authentication is a must.
On the Linux machine where Samba is running, I have joined it to the domain
using PBIS (domainjoin-cli join [DomainName [DomainAccount]).

samba acl's
I have been playing with samba for a short time. I am not a programmer
but a I have some questions on if acls within samba are possible,
regardless of acl's in the file system or kernel. In samba now, you can
have read list or write list and say this user and/or group has write
and/or this user and/or group has read only. This is a scaled down
version of an acl. What if they created a

Question on glm.nb vs zeroinfl vs hurdle models
Good afternoon,
I?m in need of an advice regarding a proper use of glm.nb, zeroinfl or hurdle with my dataframe.
I can not provide a self-contained example, since I need an advice on this current dataset and its ?contradictory? results.
So.... i have a dataset which contains 1309 cases and 11 variables, highly right-skewed and heavily zeroinflated (with over 1100 cases that have 0 value
