Bug: ext3 patch prevents power-down in 2.4.x kernels
I am running debian unstable. I applied the ext3 patch to the 2.4.9 kernel source, and got ext3 working fine. However, when I shut my system down (shutdown -h now or shutdown from kdm), it does not turn the power off. The whole shutdown sequence runs, and finally displays the message "Power Down", but nothing else happens. At this point, the power switch does not turn off the

Crashed ext3-filesystem
Hi! We have a server still running Debian 3.0 (Woody) that nobody likes to touch for maintenance ... ;) Our home-directories are located on a separate HDD (30GB, 1 large primary ext3 partition) and until yesterday it worked correctly. Because the partition was nearly full we had to enlarge our home-space by moving it to a larger HDD. We decided to try a copy of whole partition by using

Overwriting ext2 Partition with ext3
Hi, Suppose you have an ext2 Partition at 14GB which is 80-90% full. Most files are smaller than 1 MB (there are just 20 or so which are over 100MB where 800MB is the biggest one). Block size etc - everything is default. Now you do this: mke2fs -j /device Important is the "-j" switch. What happens without the "-j" switch? All superblocks and inodes are overwritten. Is this

Hwo to get CallerID: SIP -> ISDN
Hi! I trying to configure * in a way, that it uses a different CLIP (Caller-Id in ISDN) per SIP user, when relaying the call from SIP to the ISDN. So far always the main (1st) number of the number-block is sent to the ISDN. I have a E100P from Digium and use the zapata stuff (chan_zap). All SIP calls are coming through an SER. One idea I had in mind is to assign userid's in SIP, that match

[LLVMdev] Hwo to guess PC-relative offset
Dear LLVM crew, I have been writing a new LLVM backend with a very simple instruction set. moving a constant value to a register is selected as a load of the constant, with a PC-relative positive offset. Thus, the constant should be stored in .text section, after the load instruction, and offset should be computed at compile time (not link time). I struggle to find out : - how llvm handle

When I compile to .o then objdump it I can see that a symbol holding the constant value was created in

Coercing a list to integer?
Dear group, I am nearly beside myself. After an entire night spent on a niggling little detail, I am no closer to to the truth. I loaded an Excel file in .csv form into R. It apparentely loads as a list, but not the kind of list you can use. Oh no, it converts into a list that cannot be converted into an integer, numeric, or vector, only a matrix, whihc is useless without integers.
