Weird, weird, weird thing with my Asterisk box...
I've been banging my head into a wall over this one... Yesterday, we had a big fire down the block, so the city chopped the power to our whole block for a few hours, and the Asterisk box didn't shut down properly, just died when the UPS ran out. So I power it back up when I got in, and everything seemed to check out OK, except that when I dialed in to the system, or tried to connect

MCMCglmm heteroscedasticity dependent on predictor
Hi, I have a dataset where the residual variance decreases with on one of the predictors (population size). Currently, the full model looks like this: prior<-list(R=list(V=1e-16, nu=-2),G1=list(V=diag(2), nu=2)) m<-MCMCglmm(response~poly(population size,2)*poly(other predictor,2)+time, random=~us(1+time):population, data=data, prior=prior) Basically, it's a random regression with

Run-time error 429: ActiveX component can't create object
Hi! I'm trying to run Direct Connect (www.neo-modus) using wine, but I'm getting the following error message when running (wine --dll oleaut32=n Direct\ Connect.exe): - Run-time error '429': ActiveX component can't create object - Anyone know what might be causing this? I'm using a fresh install of wine, and I really don't have much experience using it. Any help

glmer or not - glmer model specification
Hello, I'm having some trouble figuring out the correct model specification for my data. The system consists of multiple populations of an organism, which have been genetically sampled for several years. The problem is this: A minority of individuals are found in more than one sample, either they have survived into the next sampling at the same location, or have migrated to another another

Weird unicode related bug in smbfs?
Dear All, I have encountered a strange bug that occurs (I think) with Unicode related file names in samba. Let me illustrate the example: I have a Win2k box with IP 192.168.0.2. This box has an NTFS folder called "Music" on it, which is shared for only one user. I have a Debian Unstable box with IP 192.168.0.1 which coincidentally acts as the router for the Win2k box. Both

.ssh files
I burned an .iso cd of the home dir of a server, my .ssh files are there, but if I restore from the cd using rsync -azurvp /mnt/cdrom/.ssh/* ~/.ssh the permissions seem screwy. I'm trying to use my id_dsa ssh key to login to other servers, but they don't acknowledge the key because the "permission are incorrect". Any Suggestions? Did i screwup, by using mkisofs &

Shaping. What I thought would be simple...
Two questions here... Im using 2.0 as my NAT gw box between my cable modem and my internal home network. #1 - Shaping Implementation How would I configure shorewall to give the highest priority for traffic to & from an IP address on my internal network. Maybe Im being a bit dense, but I couldnt figure it out. #2 - SSH & Shaping Strategy Well I managed to figure out how to give ssh

ztcfg and Aastra 390 phones
I am wandering if anyone can explain this unusual scenario. I am running Asterisk on Fedora. After the box boots, I run insmod wcfxs at a command line. The phones keep the red message light on and are in a state like they are not recognized yet. If I then run the command ztcfg, I don't get anything after the command, meaning that everything should be OK in zapata and zaptel confs and the
