Filter web content in a LAN ?
Hi, I installed a network of five desktops in a small town hall, all running CentOS 5.4. The machines are publicly, and the mayor asked me to find some solution to effectively filter web content, as the kids' first reflex is to visit the interesting bits of the Internet first, from satanism to porn. One of the machines will be set up as a router anyway, since the public computer room

Extracting results from Google Search
Dear list, I have a long list of towns in Africa and would need to get their geographical coordinates. The Google query [/TownName Country coordinates/] works for most of the TownNames I have and give a nicely formatted Google output (try Ingall Niger coordinates for an example). I would like to launch a loop on the list of names I have and automatically extract the coordinates given by Google.

So in order to answer the background and backbone questions here is the system as it is. I hope this isn't too much for the list but I'll post it in response to a few inquiries. The current system is quite interesting. We have an office in a town that is about 50 miles from the ski area. The ski area is powered 100% of of generators and the telephone access and internet access goes from

If someone in the town of this client calls him, he gets the ISDN error "service not available". With some more debugging we saw what happens with these

Samba share configuration: r/w for some users, read-only for others
Hi, I'm using Samba for some basic setups like open shares for everybody, or restricted shares with Samba users and passwords. So far, everything works fine. I have two situations which both more or less amount to the same, and I don't know how to configure it. One is in a school, the other one in a town hall. 1) In the school, I'd like to configure a share that is readable and
