Windows client refuses multiple print copies when printing to samba printer
Hello
I have got the following problem:
My Samba printer doesn't allow multiple copies, when trying to print from a
client machine. (Unix printing works fine with multple copies). When I enter
more than one copy into the "number of copies" field on a WinXP client
machine, I get the error message "This printer cannot print the specified
amount of copies. The amount of copies is

Samba - cannot print multiple copies
Hi,
I successfully setup printing on my FreeBSD box
using Samba with apsfilter and lprng. However, I
have encountered two issues:
1) Cannot print multiple copies of documents from
my windows box (e.g. notepad). Only the first
copy is printed and the rest don't get printed.
2) My spool directory is getting filled up and
I would like the job removed after the print
job is finished

I have used redhat 7.3 kde printer configurations to create the appropriate

Printing - "lprm command" not getting executed
I am attempting to get printing services for Windows 2000 clients working
with Samba on a Red Hat 7.2 box. The problem is I can not cancel print jobs
(either from a PC or the local smb client). File sharing, and printing
other than this problem, work fine.
Here is a listing of configuration and system info: 1) the samba packages
installed, 2) output of "uname -a", 3) the

Samba & LPRng: Printer Status in Windows
I know this question has been answered here a while back, but I have not been able to find the mailing with the posts on it.
-----==========-----
I have a redhat server that I am using as a file/print server for student use. I am using samba to help the users with Windows. The problem I have is that when using printing a user can submit a print job, and it prints fine, but cannot see the

DNS server and printing.
Good afternoon,
This is my first post, so please be gentle ;)
Anyway, here's my question....I've recently put together a Linux Server for
our company, replacing an old Novel server. I have the box set up with
Samba, as a PDC on our network. So far, just about everything is working
correctly.
One issue I'm coming up against, though, is printing from DOS. I
have Samba

2 issues using SAMBA as a print server
I am using SAMBA/Lprng to do printer accounting for charge-back. There
are two technical issues I have not been able to resolve.
1. When attempting to connect to the printer from a Windows box in the
domain (the SAMBA server is simply a server that's a member of the domain,
it is not the PDC) I get the message that the server does not have the
appropriate driver and then it pops up a setup

Printing to FreeBSD server from XP using samba
A couple of days ago I set up my printer on my FreeBSD server and set it
up so I could print from my FreeBSD client. This all works very well,
printing from botht the server and the FBSD client. However, I also have
samba set up for file serving with an XP box. I have been trying for
quite some time now to set samba up to enable me to print from the XP
client. My situation at the moment is that

"Ghost" print job.
Hi all,
I'm currentlly using samba-2.2.2 together with LPRng-3.7.4, and have a
problem with a printjob that woun't go away. I use samba for a small
file/printserver for 10 people using win98se clients, and it's been
working very nicely. As I upgraded from samba-2.0.6, I sent out a
testpage from one of the win98se clients to the two printers (hpljet 6L,
Epson stylus photo 750) we have

Samba Printing
Good Afternoon,
We recently added encrypted smb passwords to our site.
I just tried to add a printer to samba and it will not work.
I tried to connect to \\sambahost\printer and it will not connect.
All the older printers still work. I just wonder if there is an
extra step I need to perform now when I add printers?
Thanks for your time,
Bill

smb printer errors
Hello,
Each time when users send a print job to smb printers
which are not able to print for some reason, the Samba server
send an e-mail (with printer errors) about that fact to the users.
Is it possible to adjust the Samba server (in smb.conf) that it will not
send e-mail messages to users when samba smb printers has problems ?
Operating system: Sun Solaris 7
Samba version: 2.2.3a

Manual Printer Driver Installations
Hey,
I posted a few days ago about how the printer paper sizes are differ from
the admin account
when they are installed. People at my work are getting pissed at the moment
and all they want to do
is to be able to change the paper sizes themselves and not have it done at
the server
Is there a way to do it?
I fluked it at one stage and had it working like that, I think I deleted the

Problems Printing w/ Caldera OpenServer
I am having problems getting Samba configured so I can print. I am going from Windows XP to Samba. I don't get any error messages in Windows saying that there is a problem. It sends the document then that is it. It is like the document gets lost. I am able to print through Linux and WebMin. What should I look at next? I am using the latest version of Caldera OpenServer. Print Job Notification
Can anyone suggest a way to have a notification after a print job has
completed. I currently have this as my print command:
lpr -r -P%p %s; csh -c 'echo \"%J has started printing on %S\" |

It kind of does what I want, but notice that the message says that "Job has
STARTED printing on Printer". This is because with this
