Need help HPUX11 and winbind (pwgetent)
Hello, I have Samba 2.2.5 installed with winbind. on an HPUX 11 server. I am using Domain security using a W2K PDC. I have successfully joined the domain, and wbinfo commands (-t -u -g ) all come back with good data. The problem is I can not get pwgetent to run. It always says not found. I have the libnss_winbind.so libraries linked in /lib, and winbind in my nsswitch.conf. Also have the

A little utility for checking socket settings
I've been in discussion with a colleague who had to reduce (!) SO_SNDBUF to get decent performance, and so wrote this little tool. It tells you the system default for most of the settable socket options. It can't do linger, as the value is a struct instead of an int, but that's probably uninteresting to Samba folks. Run this to see what you'd have if you didn't set any

rsync 2.4.6 hanging on HPUX11 only over firewall.
We are running rsync 2.4.6 on HPUX-11and using it to push a document-root from a staging area to several servers running rsync in daemon mode. The rsync client syncs successfully to modules on the same server and to most other machines, but hangs when trying to syncronise across a firewall (from SECURE zone to DMZ) (The firewall port IS OPEN!!) During a normal release where there are rougly

ssh not resolving host names on HP-UX 11i
Actually it really never was answered, but here's how I fixed (worked around) it. At first I thought installing patch PHNE_27796 (libnss_dns DNS backend patch) had fixed it. It didn't. It just flip-flopped the problem. Prior to installing that patch, ssh would never go to DNS no matter what was in nsswitch.conf. It appeared to only look in /etc/hosts. After installing the patch, ssh

Winbind on HPUX 11, some small progress
Hi All, Well, i've managed to enable some debugging in syslog, I had to put in /etc/syslog.conf ;*.debug on the syslog line. So at least I have an error which is being returned into syslog from winbind. This is what I get from winbind Feb 4 21:13:17 coastdr pam_winbind[20753]: Verify user `lonnie' Feb 4 21:13:18 coastdr pam_winbind[20753]: user 'lonnie' granted acces Feb 4

Compiler messages when building opsnssh 3.9pl for hp_ux 11.0
All, I have encountered an issue with builds for openssh 3.9pl on the hp_ux 11.0 platform. The compiler (gcc) generates about 380 warning message and the build fails because of excessive numbers of warnings. Help with compile on HP-UX 11.0
I'm having quite a bit of trouble with 2.2.7a and HP-UX 11.0. I've attempted to compile (configure && make) with aCC (aCC: HP ANSI C++ B3910B A.03.13), and gcc versions 2.95.1, and 3.2. (A few others as well, but that's not, perhaps, relevant here.) Let's assume I'm using gcc 2.95.1. The first configure error I see in config.log is: In file included from

I'm having some trouble compiling samba 2.0.4b on an 64bit HP-UX 11 system. The configure script finishes without any errors.
