kernel oplocks
I am a little bit confused about the kernel support for oplocks.
man page of smb.conf:
----------------
For UNIXs that support kernel based oplocks (currently only IRIX but
hopefully also Linux and FreeBSD soon) this parameter allows the use
of them to be turned on or off.
This parameter defaults to "On" on systems that have the support, and
"off" on systems that don't.

Ring a grop of extension, then playback a file, then transfer to external number
Ok,
Here is what I got working:
A call comes in from a Zap line. 5 SIP extension ring if nobody picks
up, the call is transfered to a cell phone number. That works.
I not want to add a playback of a file ("Please waite while you are
being transfered") before transfering the call to the cell phone.
How can I do this?

Initial user password
Hi list.
I am new to the list, but not so new to samba. Though i have a question.
I am migrating to samba 3.0 and want to setup users using pdbedit (like Volker
Lendecke showed at the Linux Kongress in Saarbr?cken; very fine tutorial, thanks!).
Is there a way of setting an initial passwort like "test" and to force the user to change it
after or while the first login?
Perhaps it is a

Hello.
I have a linux Server as pdc, a win2000 Server joined this domain and some clients.
Now we want share directories. These shares (on non Samba systems) shall be made for defined users, the other users are not allowed to use these shares.
How do i make this?
Thanks for your help!

Performance problem
We use some Samba servers running SuSE 7.1 and samba 2.2.1a.
These servers are sometimes very slow while delivering data over the network. It is like a short sleep-mode followed by a wake up. We use Win 95, 98 and 98SE Clients.
Any ideas?
Thanks from germany,
Andre Klocke

Odd transfer speed issue
Hi all,
I'm seeing slow transfers to/from my samba server. I just tried to copy a
270MB file from a samba share to an XP machine. At first, the estimated time
displayed as 141 minutes :(
The odd thing is that if I then flood-ping from the server (in this case, I
pinged my dsl router), the transfer completes in about 10 seconds. Hitting
F5 repeatedly when browsing a share on the server

# Transfer Context
I am trying to setup a couple of virtual pbx's off of my one may
asterisk box. So far I have been able to segment most everything via
the Dial plan. My only question/problem has to do with the # Transfer
function. I had set up # Transfers prior to segmenting the dial plan,
and I cannot remember how I was able to specify which context to use
when the user presses #. I haven't been able

Disable flash transfers?
Is there an easy way to disable flash transfers? I'd prefer the users hit # to transfer, since some users are hanging up a call, then dialing another one without giving the handset enough time to actually hangup the call, so it appears that they are transfering the 'ended' call to the new number that they are calling.. I'd like to keep flash functionality for call waiting, but

auto-ballooning crashing Dom0?
Hi,
during some experiments with many guests I get crashing Dom0s because of
too less memory. Actually the OOM killer goes ''round and kills random
things, preferably qemu-dm''s ;-)
The box in question has 128GB of memory, I start with dom0_mem=8192M (or
16384M, doesn''t matter). I also used "dom0_mem=8192M,min:1536M", but
that didn''t make any

Asterisk as a gateway. 'flash for transfers transparency?'
Hi,
I have 2 asterisk boxes as Gateway, in this arrangement.
(PANASONIC PBX) - [ASTERISK1] - network - [ASTERISK2] - (ANALOG PHONE)
everything works great, in both directions (receiving and making calls),
but when i get a call on the (ANALOGPHONE), I haven't been able to
transfer it to another extension of the PANASONIC PBX using the flash key.
I've tried the using the t T options on

Asterisk B2BUA and Site to Site transfers
Hi All,
I am seeking input from anyone who may have seen a similar
configuration and dealt with similar issues to what I'm experiencing.
Configuration:
- 2 sites (site A and B)
- Asterisk 1.2.23 on each site (Trixbox)
- Internet 512/512 symmetric at each site, dedicated to VOIP calls
only.
- IAX trunk between the sites, with data travelling across the 512/512
Symmetric link
- PSTN

Imap - Loging
Hello List,
i'm looking for a way to increase log-level for imap-processes. Pop3 Server
writes all necessary infos about mails-transfered/deleted etc. Imap-Log
writes just times and ip's of Userlogins.
Is there a way to increase the imap-output? The Conf-Parameters i found did
not really fit my requirements. Best result would be a collected log of
transfering/deleting mails for one

Transfer differences between BudgeTone101 and Snom190
Hello all,
This email is intended rather informative than questioning. While
developing some script-generated dial plan, we figured out that there
are differences between Snom 190's and BudgeTone 101's relating to
transfers.
It appeared that the 190's will have their own 'Caller ID' set as the
'CALLERID' variable in astersisk when transfering a call, while the

Transfer on RTP timeout?
Hi all,
We are looking at VoIP over Wifi and I was wondering if anybody had any
ideas around automatically transfering calls after an RTP timeout? The
idea is this: a user is on a call with their IP phone and the connection
drops (e.g. user walks out of range of their Wifi AP). Using RTP
timeout I was hoping rather than just dropping the call I could keep the
other party on hold whilst

How to speed up Rsync transfers
Is there a way to speed up rsync transfers?
I tested the bandwidth with iperf (recommended to me in an earlier post &
worked well)its as advertised by my ISP's around 740KB/sec.
When I manually run my rsync script with the --progress switch the transfers
are around 100KB/sec.
I googled this and the only thing I found had to do with the TCP window
which I understand to be the limiting
