Username Map not work
Hi All: I am running Samba 2.2.2 on HPUX-11.0. I use our NT 4.0 domain controller as the password server. However I also need to use the "username map" parameter. Samba will not look at my "username map" file. Any ideas? Also the "guest account" parameter will not work unless its in the "global" section ( it is supposed to be a share level parameter in

creating unicode_map.437 and unicode_map.ISO8859-1?
Hello, I am running HP-UX 11 with Samba 2.2.5 binaries for HPUX and I keep getting the error that Samba can't find the unicode_map.xxx file. Well, I notice that all I have in /usr/local/samba/lib/codepages is codepage type files, not unicode. Why do the binaries not include a compiled make_unicodemap? I did download the source and found the .c file for the command. When I try to run

[PATCH] ./configure fails to recognize alphapca56 (R-1.1.0)
I think I reported this bug in the past. At that time, I was told that it is a bug of autoconf. ./configure does not recognize Linux on DEC Alpha 21164PC (a cheap version of Alpha EV56), so all the compilation flags were set incorrectly. I don't know the right way to fix it (I don't know how autoconf works yet ...), but the following patch fixes the problem. Thank you, Naoki Naoki

R on HP-UX, again: modreg.sl fails, 1 arith test fails
I want to report the progress of my attempts to get R running on HP-UX with gcc: Firstly, I could work around the PIC problem by leaving out all the lib stuff (I rebuilt gcc with --enable-share, but this (alone) did not help), e.g. the line gcc -shared -fPIC -o ctest.sl ansari.o fexact.o kendall.o ks.o prho.o swilk.o -L/usr/local/lib -lg2c -lm -L/lib/pa1.1 -L/usr/lib/pa1.1 -u main

smbclient
I am receiving this error randomly when using smbclient to access pc shares : FINDFIRST gave ERRSRV - (Non-specific error code.) I use smbclient with Amanda to backup pc shares. For amanda to work, it uses smbclient to recursively scan through the entire directory tree and get total MB size of each directory. The problem is that when trying to enter some directories it gives the above error and

Porting OpenSSH 2.9.9p2 to Dynix V4.4.4
Hello Porters, I am attempting to compile OpenSSH 2.9.9p2 on a Dynix V4.4.4 host. I have set USE_PIPES and BROKEN_SAVED_UIDS (the latter because there are no functions for set{eu,eg}id() that I can find). I configured with "./configure '--with-libs=-lnsl -lsec'". Each time I attempt to login, I get this error: No utmp entry. You must exec "login" from

dovecot mounts user home dir?
Why does dovecot mount the user home directory whenever the user checks his email (either pop or imap)? Is there a way to disable this? I have indicated in the default_mail_env = mbox:/home/%u/:INBOX=/mail/%u:INDEX=MEMORY. The users are in ldap. Windows users' home is in /home/%u so this is ok but unix users' home are in their local computers and are mounted (via automount) at

Various platforms
Hello, I've been compiling OpenSSH up on just about every platform that I can get my hands on. I am not certain of the best way of building my 'fixes' into the source tree, not least of all since I didn't worry about #ifdef's or the configure scripts. However hopefully this will be of use to you. This is all for openssh-2.2.0p1 compiled alongside openssl-0.9.5a and

Compiling R on HP-UX
Has anyone succeeded in compiling R on HP-UX? I'm trying to compile R version 1.1.0 on a HP-UX 10.20 machine. I run into the following problems: I got a compile error on src/unix/X11/rbitmap.c which I solved by including setjmp.h. After that, and after editing the Makefiles a bit cause gcc en ld can't find all the libraries, I finally get it to compile. Then I run "make

[PATCH] permanently_set_uid fails on Cygwin :-(
Hi, I'm terribly sorry that I missed this before 3.7p1 was out. The permanently_set_uid() function fails on Cygwin since the test to revert to the saved uid unfortunately works on Cygwin though it shouldn't. The reason is that a Windows NT process always can revert to its previous privileges. There's no such concept of giving up rights in a process permanently. This is only

[PATCH] Cygwin: rel 3.0 drops requirement for privileged non-SYSTEM account
Seteuid now creates user token using S4U. We don't create a token from scratch anymore, so we don't need the "Create a process token" privilege.
