RH 7.1 & Samba HELP
Hi, I have just downloaded the samba 2.2.2 rpm version for RH 7.1. Where can I find documentation that will help me set it up. I can't get it started running. In a previous version you could just type samba & the services would start/stop. I would like to configure this box as a fileserver in an NT domain if possible. Any help is appreciated, Bill

Is there a best practice in dealing with javascript dependencies?
As I''ve begun to work with several javascript libraries out there, I''ve run in to some dependency issues that must have been solved by others before. For example, I''m trying to implement the jstree library from Laurie Harper in to BundledResource. Breaking the ''jstree'' javascript from the sample html out in to its own file caused it to fail

.ssh files
I burned an .iso cd of the home dir of a server, my .ssh files are there, but if I restore from the cd using rsync -azurvp /mnt/cdrom/.ssh/* ~/.ssh the permissions seem screwy. I'm trying to use my id_dsa ssh key to login to other servers, but they don't acknowledge the key because the "permission are incorrect". Any Suggestions? Did i screwup, by using mkisofs &

I am using Suse V8 with KDE3 and running Samba 2.2.3a, and very much feeling my way as I get into Linux. Using Swat I checked Status and it said smbd running, nmbd not running. If I use KDE process table I can see nmbd as PID 714 and smbd as PID 719. I cannot start or restart nmbd from Swat ? Any clues as to what the problem is here? Nagios Monitoring with xentop
I am creating some custom nagios plugins and I am scraping data from xen using the nagios command: /usr/sbin/xentop -b -i 2 -d1 I am trying to get the network tx / rx data, however I think I am missing something here. NETTX(k) NETRX(k) So total network bandwidth is 1048576 k if the above header from xentop is true. So I am wondering why the output for each vm exceeds the theoretical max, Is

Samba restart
hi all, I noticed that when I upgraded from Samba 2.0.7 (redhat 7.0) to samba 2.2.1a I lost this nice little script that came with redhat to start and stop the samba server. I would type in /usr/sbin/samba start and get a response like... /usr/sbin/smbd start (OK) /usr/sbin/nmbd start (OK) I liked that...does any one have a substitute that I could use for 2.2.1a? Thanks Carl

Legend titles in log plots broken? (ver. 2.2.1)
Legend titles work in linear plots: curve(1/x, xlim = c(0, 1)) legend(x = 'topright', inset = 0.04, legend = '1/x', lty = 1, title = 'Legend Title') But when you change to a log plot on either dimension things get screwy: curve(1/x, xlim = c(0, 1), log = 'y') legend(x = 'topright', inset = 0.04, legend = '1/x', lty = 1,
