configuration problem
Hi All:
I'm worse than a newbie at this so if this seems a bit dumb please accept
my appologies.
I've gone to us1.samba.org/samba/docs/DIAGNOSIS.htm and run all of the
tests. My installation appears to pass all of them except for this one:
nmblookup -B ABNER
Yes, Abner is all in uppercase on both the windoz box and the Linux box.
All of the other tests appear fine.

Unable to connect to smb shares from second machine in workgroup
I have a pretty simply home LAN with a Linux box (Mandrake 9.1) and 2 XP
boxes. The workgroup is named UNIVERSE and the machines are earth

Voyager can browse over to \\earth\share no problem. Recently I

LLVM header files for Kaleidoscope tutorial
I'm going through the Kaleidoscope tutorial, adding the codegen()
functions: https://llvm.org/docs/tutorial/LangImpl03.html.
I cannot find any discussion of header files to include, (other than the
include of llvm/ADT/STLExtras.h in the lexer/parser code), and the
compilation is failing due to several undefined symbols: LogErrorV, Value,
LLVMContext, APFloat, and others. I've been hunting

Problems trying to build LLVM
Hi, I am brand new to LLVM, or more precisely, trying to be. I'm getting
stuck on compiling LLVM.
- I tried installing on a Mint 18.1 VM with 6GB RAM, and the builds of some
large executables were killed by the OOM killer. I finally realized that I
needed to build using shared libraries, and succeeded. This was in November.
- I put aside my LLVM project, and just got back to it. I got stuck

SAMBA 2.0.7
Dear Samba team:
I just download SAMBA 2.0.7 from
http://samba.gorski.net/samba/ftp/Binary_Packages/redhat/
and I have already installed SAMBA 2.0.6 which come
with my red head linux 6.2 CD. But the 2.0.7 SAMBA is
conflict with SAMBA 2.0.6. and it will not allow me
to install the latest version of SAMBA. It gives me
error messages while I am trying to install samba2.0.7

swat error
I am getting the following error when trying to connect to

chdir failed - the server is not configured correctly
Are there any known fixes for this ?
Also:
I noticed that some of the directives, such as datadir, might be
non-functional or ignored elsewhere in coding of swat
Could this be the cause of the above errors ?

Using konqueror with help.start
For R-1.2.3 on a Debian 2.3 (testing) GNU/Linux system I would like
to have help.start use Konqueror (the KDE web browser) instead of
netscape. I can start it with
help.start(browser = "konqueror")
but trying to search for terms from the search page does not work.
My guess is that I need to configure javascript. The default is not
to allow javascript at all. I do not wish to

"help.start() and kde konqueror"
Hello,
When I attempt to use KDE 3.03 "konqueror" for help.start() I can't get the
search engine to work but otherwise help.start() is OK. How should
"konqueror" be setup for this?
The response to the command is below:
> help.start(browser= 'konqueror')

If konqueror is already running, it is *not* restarted, and you must

R Documentation(s)
Dear all,
I am interested by the various messages sent to the r-help mailing list
these last few days about documentation on R. Yet, there are a lot of
issues actually open on this topic, and it is not clear to me what is the
"urgent need for documentation" on R.
R comes with the 'Introduction to R' by Venables et al. I recommend the
colleagues and students in my lab who are

CentOS proviiding additional services > was Setting up Tomcat
This thread (... Tomcat ...) emphasizes the essential conundrom of
CentOS whose mission is to provide a community-based, well-maintained
and freely distributable version of the stable enterprise software
from the Well Known North American VENDOR (WKNAV). There is a
essential gap betweenthe community (I want lots of current packages)
and the WKNAV base (you get what I choose to provide). As CentOS

flash and konqueror
I am stuck taking this stupid online training course from work. It just
sits there doing nothing with firefox, so I pulled up konqueror, and tell
it to lie and say it's IE. That works... until it gets to the content,
which some HR moron is *positive* desperately needs to be in flash.
I've gone into konqi's configuration, and told it to scan the correct
directory for plugins, and yet

wine and Samba
Hi!
Is there a way to run Wine from a Samba connection opened in Konqueror?
When I open it via Konqueror (double-clicking=>run with=>wine), it just
opens a window and close it fastly. When I activate the 'open in
terminal' option, the terminal leaves blank.
What can I do?
Thanks.

Problems connecting to httpd help server with some browsers
Hello,
sorry to provide only very little testing, but with the release date nearing,
I thought it better to report this quickly than to wait for an uncertain
period until I find more time.
I'm observing strange problems connecting to the httpd help server with
konqueror (KDE 4.3.1):
options (help_type="html")
options (browser="konqueror")
help ("print")
