calculating DNA mismatch distributions for large populations
Hi all,
I am interested in calculating and displaying the distributions of
pairwise comparisons between DNA sequences in populations. The
comparisons are the number of nucleotide sites that differ between the
two sequences (mismatches). My sequences are stored in a vector of
strings. There is an additional vector of the same length that
provides the indices to the DNA sequences. Finally, I

Reaching different subnets
Hi!
I have a problem with samba, that I don't know if it's possible to solve. This is my network:
<Subnet1>-Ethernet-<Gateway>-Ethernet-<Subnet2>-Internet
Subnet1 is my own local network (bcast 192.168.1.255), Gateway is my own gateway machine (FreeBSD4.4, IPs: 192.168.1.1 and 193.13.35.101), Subnet2 is my neighbours (bcast 193.13.255.255).
I can configure all

Netware 5.0 to Samba/LDAP migration
I'd like to migrate a Netware 5.0 serve to Samba and LDAP. I'm
wondering how I might export the usernames, passwords, and perhaps
group memberships to the destination LDAP. If I can get the data into
LDIF form, I'm okay from there. Does anyone know how the passwords in
Netware 5.0 are encrypted? I hope to bring them over, but reseting the
passwords is not out of the question (just

Ldap and host keys
Hi,
I am looking at the possibility of storing the public ssh host keys in ldap
and having the clients look there rather then the standard known_hosts file.
I am not looking at having the clients write anything to the ldap server just
check the validity of the public keys. Would there be any serious security
implications with this type of setup?
Thanks,

Configuring compiler-rt to use the same linker as LLVM
Hi Everyone,
I was looking at the output of cmake when configuring multiple
projects using the monorepo and I'm seeing that compiler-rt (or at
least the sanitizers) are detecting the linker to use independently of
the LLVM configuration.
Is there a way to make compiler-rt builds respect the linker used when
building LLVM, when built in-tree or through the projects
configuration?
Cheers

rsync on cygwin: Connection reset by peer
I have been trying to get rsync running correctly on cygwin for the past
couple of days. I found a post on the cygwin list that said there was a
bug in cygwin when using socketpair() but when I compiled the sample code:
(http://jrepp.com/rsync/socketpair.c) both ways it works fine. Here's the
article for reference:

Samba 2.2.2 with LDAP support
Hello,
I want to use Samba 2.2.2 with LDAP support.
So I include the option "--with-ldapsam" in the command line of "configure".
I compile and install binaries.
But when I verifie with "testparm" my "smb.conf" file, I don't find the
option of LDAP support ("ldap admin dn", ...).
Anybody knows my problem ?
Thanks in advance.

don't have a public facing web page but you are looking for people to
click on but a personalized list of numbers. In order for someone to
access this directory you are going to be asking for a username/password
correct? If so just tie the username to a selection of 'my location'
checkboxes that I tick and then the app remembers this location next
time I log in (eg server side

FW: TellMe pay-as-you-go? - UPDATE
As some of you know I've been trying to facilitate an involvement with
www.tellme.com <http://www.tellme.com/> speech recognition tools and
Asterisk. See www.studio.tellme.com <http://www.studio.tellme.com/>
There have been a number of people who are already integrating the two
and utilizing Tellme as an ASP to deliver speech recognition to their
asterisk applications.

The long term concept is if you want a 'weather station with live video

I have high hopes for the concepts, and wish the guys well as it seems

samba-ldap pdc howto problem
Greetings:
I'm on section 3.2 (page 7) of the SAMBA-LDAP PDC HowTo and am getting
errors. This is on a brand-new install on RedHat 7.2, using
openldap-2.0.23-4.i386.rpm, openldap-clients-2.0.23-4.i386.rpm, and
openldap-servers-2.0.23-4.i386.rpm from the 7.3 tree from a RedHat
mirror (Rawhide wouldn't let me in at that point) and
samba-2.2.4-2.src.rpm from RedHat's Rawhide tree.
