Hi, I have a strange problem, when I try to connect to les.net from our local asterisk server through Procurve router I seems to be connecting on any port above 1024 and when I reload sip the port is changing too ... So I never get 5060? Any ideas on what is going on and how to resolve it? ? Sincerely, Robert Augustyn 519-997-3106 ext:802 www.linqone.com ? ? -------------- next part

iptables add - heavy on cpu time
I have a firewall (No NAT - just routing) configuration with a large number of chains and rules. I am now testing it on RH9 and it seems to take 100% user CPU time for more than 30 minutes for the script to run (I am still waiting for it to finish) On RH7.1 a similar set of rules takes about 30 seconds to load (also at around 100% cpu) Is this a known "feature" or am I missing

samba produces heavy load on solaris server
Hello, i have problems with to heavy load on our samba server (2.2.7) on a sun solaris (5.8) server. We use the server to share data for mechanical cad and those programs open many, many (e.g. 1400 files in one model) files at a time and because of this produce really heavy load on the server (cpu 15%-25% per smbd process). Trying a newer version of samba (3.0.14a) does not really make this

Partial Keyboard Functionality In Old PC Game (Heavy Gear 2)
Hey folks, I've been trying to get Heavy Gear 2 (awesome old Activision mech FPS game) up and running on wine. The game requires Direct X 6, which necessitates that I run wine configured to Windows version 95 or 98. Everything works fine except for the fact that SOME, actually the majority of the keys on my (laptop) keyboard don't work. To be more specific, all keys seem to work when in

Heavy CPU Usage During SPEEX Calls
I'm getting close to 90% CPU usage when doing SPEEX calls. When using GSM everything is fine. This has only happened in the last months with CVS HEAD. I'm running now CVS as of yesterday on linux-2.6.12-rc3-RT-V0.7.46-02. Anyone else experienced this? -- Esben Stien is b0ef@e s a http://www. s t n m irc://irc. b - i . e/%23contact

Monitoring transcoding and other heavy activities
Hi, often on this list I read about transcoding as the heaviest activity for an Asterisk server, together with high IRQ rate (especially with Digium cards...). Is there a way to monitor if Asterisk is engaged (by mistake or by design) in transcoding or any other heavy activity? Or a checklist to follow to diagnose these 'bad' behaviours? Thanks DV

Lockup using stock r8169 on 4.8 in gigabit mode during heavy transfer on lan
I have no output in the logs, but /etc/init.d/network restart fixes the issue. I am rsync/scp (10GB) data from one 100MB Full duplex host to an ASUS M3A78-EM (RTL8111B/C). It locks up around the 1.5GB Tx mark. If I ethtool -s eth0 autoneg off speed 100 duplex full it does not happen again. Ideas? -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- -

Patched KVM RPMs (solves 'network shutdown under heavy load')
Hi list, due to the necessity of having a patched KVM running, I build some new RPMs. However, only kmod-kvm-83-105.27.x86_64.rpm is important to replace the 'original' one as it's the only package that contains the patch. I didn't rename the packages, though, hopefully in order not to break the upgrade path provided to us. The patch adresses following problem: 'Fix a race

ntpd heavy CPU consumption
CentOS 6.4, x86_64. ntpd on one of my systems has started consuming 66% of one core, although it appears to be functioning correctly otherwise. No pertinent logs. Of course, nothing was changed :) I've seen this before many times, but usually the CPU consumption falls back to normal within a day or so, but this has been going on for several weeks now. Stopping and restarting ntpd makes
