security=user and remote networks
Dear list,
I have a Sun running Samba 2.0.7 that I recently switched from
security=share to security=user. I have about 200 users who connect
locally, situated on a private network 172.17.0.0/16. On top of that, I
have about 200 more users who connect through VPNs, but I inherited a weird
topology, and so they have addresses like 192.168.113.192/6,
192.168.114.0/4, 192.168.114.16/4 and so on.

Router Recommendations Please
Hello all,
We've discovered that VoIP (IAX2) + Citrix + Video is pegging the measly
CPU on the Netopia router our ISP provided. We've got 3Mb/3Mb and will
increase to 4/4 next year.
The Netopia simply breaks out our WAN IPs, and we've got a switch hooked up
to it on the inside (Actually I've got a QoS box in-between).

Plot multi series on one plot
R help,
How can I plot the below data table by Data ~ Site and group by Grinder and Equip Id
so I get a chart like this Excel version? I have tried coplot with little success and lattice
makes a pretty good chart like I want, but I am using the DCOM so it does not display
correctly. I would like to make this using the base library if possible.

Nearing my wits end....bad switch???
Grasping at straws here...is anyone using a Dell PowerConnect 2224
24-port unmanaged 10/100 switch in a deployment?
I have two separate asterisk installations with bad one-way audio where
the only common elements left are the Dell switches and Polycom IP-500
phones. Two different ITSPs - one location uses IAX2 to the outside
world, the other SIP. Two different bandwidth providers, one SDSL 1.5

Preview Text Area
Okay, here''s something I''ve been racking my brain over for about an hour,
and I can''t seem to piece it together.
I have a form text area that the user will be typing some instructions
into. The instructions, when submitted, are sent through a grinder method
(composed of a small nest of gsubs) in my controller that rips them up and
turns all the line breaks into HTML

T100P HDLC configuration
All,
I am trying to configure hdlc support on T100P Digium card - everything
seems ok... but it just does not work at all.
I was able to compile all drivers, the light on the card becomes green
when I plug T1 link.... but I even can't ping default router IP... there
is no data coming back to me, so I am confused completely now.
Also I tried both protocols - raw hdlc and cisco hdlc. The

GXP-2000 Audio Quality
I have a client with about 16 GXP-2000. They complain that the audio
quality is terrible after 2 or 3 simultaneous conversations. They are
behind DSL 1.5Mbps down and 256Kbps up. Because they are using G711.u
codec, I know they upstream bandwidth is the limiting factor and they
most likely won't be able to have more than 3 simultaneous
conversations, and if they're surfing the

Netopia SDSL modem w/ IAX2 calls...
Has anybody experienced problems with a DSL modem stopping all other traffic
when an IAX channel opens up? I've really traced this thing out as best I can
- it isn't a lack of bandwidth on the DSL connection (I've had three
concurrent Ulaw calls coming in at once with no problems), nor a problem
within the network (other intranetwork traffic isn't affected by the call) -

spool dir
hello,
I'm having a problem with print files not being deleted out of
/var/spool/samba directory after a print job completes.
Right now I am running RedHat 7.3, Samba 2.2.5 with CUPS 1.1.14 as my
printing system. I was under the impression that after the job
completed Samba was suppose to remove the job from that spool directory.
Right now it just grows and grows until I have to

GrandStream Budgetone Phone & DHCP & General Observations
Symptom: Phone after about 15mins will stop functioning
Problem: DHCP lease renewed but default route dropped
Fix: Assign a static ip and problem is resolved. Upgrade to new firmware once it is released
It turn's out that these phones have a few issue in 1.0.3.81 firmware. The phone may stop transmitting packets if configured with DHCP, if DHCP is being provided by certain devices. Netopia

Thanks for your response, and for all the others.
I am indeed using the two routers as Access Points,
turning off dhcp on them, etc.
I did actually try what has been suggested,
but it didn't seem to work,
which made me
