Joel@hammershome.com: Re: smbclient error
A service is a share made available by samba or by the windows computer. smbclient -L hostname will list the services on the host. smbclient \\\\hosthame\\service will attach to the service For example: smbclient \\\\hammer1\\public will attach to the share public on host hammer1 Joel Joel On Sun, Dec 16, 2001 at 03:12:35PM -0800, Lamar Seifuddin wrote: > Joel, > > thanks for

Fw: Fw: file refresh on windows 98 client
No idea. I would just be guessing. So, I'll guess. oplocks are buggy and different versions of windows handle them differently. Just don't use oplocks. [PATCH] ocfs2: Handle quota file corruption more gracefully
ocfs2_read_virt_blocks() does BUG when we try to read a block from a file beyond its end. Since this can happen due to filesystem corruption, it is not really an appropriate answer. Make ocfs2_read_quota_block() check the condition and handle it by calling ocfs2_error() and returning EIO. How to delete matrix rows based on NA frequency?
Hi all, I would like to remove rows from a matrix, based on the frequency of missing values. If there are more than 10 % missing values, the row should be deleted. I use the following to calculate the frequencies, thereby getting a new matrix with the frequencies: freqNA=rowMeans(is.na(exprdata)) But is there a shorter way to remove the rows based on "(1-freqNA)>0.1"

Division of data frame and deletion of values from column
Hi all, I guess this might be an easy question, but I've searched multiple help pages without finding any answear... so now I put my trust in you! I have a data frame (36 variables and 556 observations). One column contains three factors, and I would like to divide the data frame into three new ones, based on the value of the factors, thereby having only one value for all elements of the

Back on the server, I then edited the picture with xv. I used linux, not samba, to call up the image in xv. I then reinserted the image in powerpoint but got the old picture. Ergo, windows had cached the file and linux did not inform samba it was updating the file, so samba let windows continue to cache it. I then did the same excercize, but this time using samba to open up and save the file with

Yes they all were sussessful except for the test I couldnt perform. I can see the linux icon in win neighborhood , but get server not accessible when I click the icon. It must have something to do with the ns lockup in the windoze. Joel Hammer <Joel@HammersHome.com> skrev: And, they all were successful? (I don't take anything for granted.) are being offered by the server. You can check also what shares are being offered by the windows boxes the same way. I wonder why the other windows machines are not showing up in network neighborhood? Try sharing some things between windows machines. Maybe you have something misconfigured on the windows side. There is a script, findsmb, which comes with samba. First turn off nmbd (killall nmbd) ,

R and threading
Hi, I am considering using R to integrate with a Java application. However, before deciding upon R I need to understand if R is capable of dealing with multiple requests simulataneously. Is a single instance of R capable of dealing with multiple simulataneous requests or does a new instance of R have to be started for each request? I have read Luke Tierney's 2001 notes on threading at

A few simple (I hope) questions from a first-timer
We have the following situation: We're ordering two PSTN lines for our new office (no broadband at all -- it's not even available). The first line is going to be our primary # and it will also serve as our fax line using distinctive ring. The second line is going to be for a dial-up ISP (*sigh*) but now we'd like it to do double duty as the second line of a hunt group (we can't

Hi, Does anybody know where I can get an untouched smb.conf file? When I used samba-swat, it rewrote smb.conf and deleted out the comments that was in the original file that came with samba. Window#paint patch
Attached is a patch and some extra files to fix our ObjectPreviouslyDeleted crasher with the paint method. As discussed, it just re-implements the method in Ruby. I created a directory lib/wx/classes as a place to hold Ruby extensions to the API. The attached app.rb and window.rb files should be added to it. When this patch is applied, files in that directory are automatically required on
