Dev: new option to mark all tincd socket of a tincd process
I know i'm new to the list but i'd like to propose something for tincd daemon. I'd like to mark all sockets established by a tincd process with a mark passed as an argument in the command line. What could be the purpose of this new option? The goal of this option is to be able to have several tincd process running at the same time using the same port but using different ip. In

But when look for the last users logged in, in the utmp-database there are only the first seven letters of the username, not eight that we use for usernames. Can you help me with this problem

tftpd-hpa suggestions
Hello, Peter and others! there are some issues regarding the tftp-hpa server: 1. Running as Windows service seems to require that the application does not detach (otherwise "net start" says smth. like "could not start, the service didn't report any errors"). The attached patch adds the option "-n", which can be used to have tftpd run in foreground.

Question about fifo behavior on Linux between versions 3.0.3 and 3.1.0
Version 3.1.0 of R has imposed a very small data limit on writing to fifos on Linux. Consider the following R code (Assumes that "ff" is a fifo in the R process's current directory): con <- fifo("ff", "a+b") writeBin(raw(12501), con) In R 3.0.3, this returns without error and the data is available on the fifo. In R 3.1.0, however, this returns the following

Mac clients trouble with NFD accented characters on Samba share
File names on a Samba share with accented characters using the NFD form of UTF8 cannot be seen or used by Mac clients. Mount unix samba 4 share to osx client without mangled file names
Hello, I have a unix server (arch linux) with samba 4.1.14. The share has files inside which where created directly on the server. Linux and OSX (10.10.1) clients should access the share and store files. When I mount this samba share into the osx client (10.10.1), files created directly on the server with special names like `File with "quotes"` are displayed mangled (`C7XSWH~V`) on the

[PATCH v2 0/4] New getprogname module
Hi, as discussed in [1], this series adds a new getprogname module. All it does is providing a getprogname function, much like what is found on e.g. *BSD systems, and using it in gnulib instead of progname. Also, using it explicitly by modules avoids gnulib users the need of either use the progname module (GPL), or to provide program_name (and call set_program_name manually, which is not always

Macs deleting files off RHEL8 server
Understood. A very weird situation just happened. A user was deleting a folder containing 1 InDesign file. When the process started, it said it was deleting 1000s of files. She immediately stopped the delete process from her Mac and opened the folder and saw what looked like all of the folders from our server. When I looked at that same folder from my computer I didn't see that, I only saw

SendText and non-ASCII characters
Hi, Is is possible to "translate" non-english text into ASCII text so that SIP phones would correctly display non-ASCII characters received from SendText() ? I think SIP MESSAGE (rfc3428) on which SendText() currently relies, defines "text/plain" Content-type but googling, I can't find a source describing what text/plain can or cannot be. INCLUDE/EXCLUDE PATTERN RULES problem on MAC OS
Bonjour, I would like to back up several desktop computer, and notebooks who are running under Mac OS, on a linux server with ext3 filesystem. I try several times with rsync, using include lists ( --include-from=my_include_file). The include list is working except for directory and filename with special character ( like french one : ?,?,? etc ...). The pattern in the include list don't match
