Problem with W2K SP2 and Samba 2.2.2
Hello I have a problem with client in W2K SP2 (not with SP1 or NT4). I use a samba server (solaris 2.7/samba 2.2.2) and a PDC (NT4SP6). When a user open a session, the home directory of the user is not connected. But, after, if I connect a network drive, it is correct. So, I think that is not a problem of password (EnablePlainTextPassword = 1 on W2K and security=user on samba server). Can

Thank you very much for your help,

Problem with xcopy /d & samba
A problem has arisen with the way samba handles file creation dates compared to NT/win2k, which prevents xcopy /d from working correctly. On NT/Win2k, files copied from another NT machine using xcopy end up with the modified dates equal to the original modified date of the file, and the created and accessed dates become the date of the xcopy operation. On Samba, files copied from an NT

smartest way to setup new system (DELL PE 4600)
Hi all, One of our servers (very old) died last week and I'm setting up a new CentOS 5.1 box to replace it. Primarily used as a samba fileshare on a mostly windows-workstation network. This system will, ideally, have the OS on a 146 GB SCSI drive, with user data on a 300GB SCSI, both attached to the backplane of the 4600. My question is this: What's best practice and most desirable

Session Data Question
I am still to new to rails to feel comfortable diving into the source for the framework however my comfort is getting better. My question is this. We are storing the session data in the database using active_record_store. I was looking at the table to just get a better idea of what is going on as far as how the data is stored. I am a bit curious as to the session.data field. What method

usbhid-ups driver can't be killed...
Hello I'm encountering a big problem with usbhid-ups driver : the driver hangs after loading some other modules (stale data message) ! And we can't restart it. We load : i2c-piix4 adm1021 adm9240 lm75 The unloading of the modules doesn't solve the problem. # ps -eaf | grep usb /root 188 2 0 07:29 ? 00:00:00 [ksuspend_usbd] root 996 2 0 07:29 ?

Link-dest thinks file is newly created, but it isn't
Hi: I've been using rsync for a couple years now. Unfortunately, I've made some changes on both ends, so it's unclear what could be the culprit. I make extensive use of --link-dest to provide a cheap "Time Machine"-like backup for a Windows machine.
