Samba Very Slow When Using AFS and MS Office (is this a Bug?)
Hi All, I am having a problem with Samba that seems to be a bug. I say this because I read the archives and they described a problem similar to mine and were told that it was a bug in older version of Samba and the latest version should have it fixed. I am running what is essentially a RH 7.3 on a 1.4GHz Athon with 1GB or RAM. I compiled Samba 2.2.5 in /opt/samba-2.2.5 and am using the following

connecting vmware through tinc on host system (linux)
Hello, i'm using a debian etch box (2.6.18-5-686) with tinc 1.0.5 for connecting to my office LAN. On the same box there's a vmware virtual machine running (Windows 2k). Now i'd like to connect this virtual machine through the VPN, too. All my attempts did fail... The virtual machine runs with a "host only" network (vmnet1). On the linux side i tried to configure NAT

I tested all the boxes and they are showing the same behavior. All systems are CentOS 3.4, 2.4.21-27.0.2.ELsmp. Shorewall version: 2.2.1 For the host mentioned is a single

NMI SERR interrupts in dom0
I have an Intel e1000e NIC which I put into passthrough for an HVM domain under Xen 4.2. All the corresponding hardware protections are enabled on my system (DMA + Interrupt remapping), however, once in a while I get a SERR NMI in dom0 (NMI - PCI sys error (SERR) in xl dmesg). I am wondering about its exact reason. I am thinking in the following way: [+] Under Intel VT-x, interrupts are

winbind cannot authenticate with new win2k PDC
Hi everyone, System info: OS: Suse 9.1 samba: 3.0.2a-51 PDC: win2K My winbind was working well with the win2k PDC. I'm using it to control access to my samba shares and subversion repositories. Then they had to change the win2k's hardware. The hostname, domain name, settings, etc. were retained (so they say). And this broke my authentication. I rejoined the domain using net ads

Hi, I have Samba 3.0.13 running on Suse 9.2 on an i586. I can browse and connect to the Samba shares on Windows XP and Mac OSX. However, about 1 min after connecting, the shares are lost and gone from the network environment - same for Windows XP and Mac OSX. The Windows shares mounted on the Linux machine work fine. Is this a know problem? Regards, Helge --- This is my smb.conf-file: #
