Asterisk(OS X) & X-Lite
I'm new to Asterisk and have installed it on OS X. I am trying to use an X-Lite softphone to connect through Asterisk to FreeWorld Dialup and am not having any luck. I have looked at several settings pages at voip-info.com but have had no luck. I am on a school network which I assume has some security but the particulars are unknown as they are not very helpful. It is necessary to

Error message when using zero-inflated count regression model in package zicounts
I have data on number of vines per tree for ~550 trees. Over half of the trees did not have any vines and the data is fairly skewed (median = 0, mean = 1.158, 3rd qu. = 1.000). I am attempting to investigate whether plot location (four sites), species (I'm using only the four most common species), or tree dbh has a significant influence on the number of vines per tree. When I

Hi Stephen, Thanks again for getting back to me, Ivan Krylov responded also and suggested windows binaries and I must confess I was only familiar with installing from files via the package sources (apart from the conventional install.packages method), so the solution was as simple as installing via the binaries. Thanks again, best wishes, James From: stephen sefick <ssefick at gmail.com>

some Maildir files not honoring dovecot-shared
I'm using RC15 on Solaris 9. The wiki indicates that when a dovecot-shared file exists, "Dovecot uses the same permissions and GID when it creates index files, dovecot-uidlist file, new mail files, etc." In my case, Dovecot *is* creating new index files based on dovecot-shared, but dovecot-uidlist and individual message files don't completely match the permissions/group

Hi, I would also be in favor of a stronger stance on licenses. In industry, where we can really get in big trouble for violating a license, we often maintain internal repositories, or need to be careful about filtering what is used from CRAN. I think that is should really be a requirement the package authors commit to stating what the restrictions are on their packages. Nicholas On 10

Very simple questions if anyone can help: (1) what is the value in saving workspaces, which is offered at every close? I thought it might save the set up of the GUI but I cant work out what it does I run a script that loads the packages I need at the start of every session. (2) mathematica has a term (%) that when typed means the last returned value, so > % + 1 say would return the last

joint estimation of two poisson equations
Dear list members, Is there a package somewhere for jointly estimating two poisson processes? I think the closest I've come is using the "SUR" option in the Zelig package (see below), but when I try the "poisson" option instead of the "SUR" optioin I get an error (error given below, and indeed, reading the documentation of the Zelig package, I get the impression

Routing between two tunnels
Hi! Me and two friends are trying to get a VPN working, but we cant get routing between two tunnels. This is how it looks, all servers (192.168.*.1) are running IP Masquerade to enable the other computers behind them to access the internet. Both elayne and glenn are connecting to melc, and the tunnel between melc and glenn are running TCPOnly because that glenn doesnt have a public IP (it's

pdflush kernel thread pops up every 10 seconds or so and video decoding grinds to a halt for 1/2 a second
Hi. A friend of mine was doing real-time video decoding on Fedora Core 13 and he had a performance glitch (1/2 a second freeze) every 5-10 seconds. "top" showed flush-253:0 process at the moment of the freeze. Major device number 253 corresponds to device-mapper. I advised my friend to re-install his FC13 without LVM, to see if the glitch is related to LVM. After re-installing FC13

Hi everyone, I released turned to FreeBSD simply because I am discouraged with windows and there security scheme (did you guys see the document microsoft wrote about how to stop windows from sending out info about your computer onto the net? it's freaking 250 pages, and that doesn't cover all the xtra exploits that can come in your computer). Anyways, I recently tried 4.8 rc2, and it

I finally fixed my problem by removing samba completely removing samba and reinstalling it. What I discovered is it appears to be an issue with rights. When I reinstalled samba the /var/lib/samba had rights like this. drwxrwxr-x+ 5 root root 4096 2010-01-11 23:27 samba On my original install where the 5 is it was a 6. After the reinstall the rights the rights on /var/lib/samba was reset to 5

determining connection type/port in logs
Is there a way to configure logging to indicate what connection type was used to authenticate? I'd like to be able to tell from the logs whether the user used STARTTLS on port 143 or an SSL-wrapped connection on port 993. Using RC15 with auth_verbose=yes gives us the following log entries during login and logout (lines wrapped for convenience): # login port 143 with STARTTLS: Jan 3
