Addition - Help!!! Windows XP Joining Samba 2.2.2 Domain
Have also now changed the root username back to root to see if that helped (although it doesn't cause any problems with any other applications), but it does now mean that I get the same error message using the root user as I do using the user seri: The following error occurred attempting to join the domain "HOME": Access is denied. I have also added the line nt acl support = no to

Possible for Asterisk to output CLID to invoke 3rdparty app?
Seri, I think you might just need to find the right variable and pass it to your script. Also, you'll probably need to read up on AGI - I'm assuming that's how you would launch your Perl scripts. Here's the list of variables on the wiki: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+variables Most likely you're looking for the variable referred to as ${CALLERID(num)}

Or you could just use "System" and do it the easy way! AGI is better suited for more complicated scripting. In any case, check out the TFOT book - you'll like it. -MC _____ From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of Michael Collins Sent: Thursday, February 09, 2006 3:13 PM To: Asterisk Users Mailing List -

smbpasswd doesn't prompt root for password
Hello. When I run smbpasswd from samba 3.0.23a on a MIPSEL system running Linux 2.4.20 as root, I'm NEVER asked for a password. Even when I create a new user in smbpasswd, I'm not asked: root@HD.bei.digitalprojects.com:/etc/samba# strings smbpasswd root:0:AAD3B435B51404EEAAD3B435B51404EE:31D6CFE0D16AE931B73C59D7E0C089C0:[U ]:LCT-44D63D42:

Possible for Asterisk to output CLID to invoke 3rd party app?
Hi all, please forgive me relative lack of knowledge with Asterisk, but I've not played with PBX systems for a while and I'm just re-finding my feet. I've set up my first Asterisk server, I have it configured with a Digium X100P Analogue pots board, I have my Called ID working and everything is hunky dorey with the server itself. But. (and there's always a but) I want to pass

server fails to boot GRUB and flashing cursor
I have a power edge with raid5 that contains Centos 5.4. I had a drive failure, anyway the array is optimal now but the server won't boot. I can boot from a Centos 5.3 liveCD and all the data is still there. There is no grub.conf just shows a broken link. Is fixing this as simple as gub-install |--root-directory=/mnt/disc/sda3 /dev/sda| Before screwing things up I am seeking your all's

Running filesystem backup?
Hi all. I currently have a problem. I try to make a backup of a running / filesystem to a second disc. I've read tha some people use rsync for it. I mount the second harddisc at /mnt/hdb1 and issue a command: rsync -vaHx --progress --numeric-ids --delete \ --exclude-from=asylum_backup.excludes --delete-excluded \ / /mnt/hdb1 Then I shutdown the system, remove the first disc and try

Browsing problem with Samba 2.2.2 PDC
Hi, We have been using Samba 2.0.7 for a couple of years on Solaris 7. I am trying to move to a Samba 2.2.2 NT domain, with a Samba PDC offering WINS. I have downloaded the Solaris 7 package for 2.2.2 and installed it on a test machine as a domain master for domain "TEST" and "wins support = yes", but I am stumped almost immediately with a browsing problem. [SERVERBUG] failed to send mail with SA and antispam plugin
Thanks to your help Steffen I was able to find out the issue which was simply the size of the Spam mail as you can see here: spamc[16545]: skipped message, greater than max message size (512000 bytes) The spam mail was around 900 kbytes as such I have changed the spamc limit to 1MB. Bastard spammer who abuses this limit by attaching a big image... Regards ML On Thursday, January 15, 2015

[SERVERBUG] failed to send mail with SA and antispam plugin
Thank you for your helpful hints on debugging this issue. I wanted first to get the mail which generates this error but unfortunately the user already deleted it as well from his trash. Now I got another hint and it looks like this mail had a big attachment to it. Is it possible that spamc generated this error due to the size of the mail? Q about net groupmap examples on samba.org
Considering the following page... http://us3.samba.org/samba/docs/man/guide/small.html First of, my compliments to John for some great examples to study. In my mind I see three levels of security: 1) Linux - such as SSH'ing into the Linux server, Linux accounts and groups come into play here 2) Samba PDC - "Domain Admins" "Domain Users" come into play here. Domain logon through VPN with WINS
Hi! I'm experiencing some serious problems setting up Samba as PDC. File sharing works fine and I can even add my computer to the domain, but when I reboot I can't log in with my samba username and password. I've previously set up similiar server, though it wasn't trough VPN. I'm running latest Debian Etch with every package upgraded. I've also tried some older samba
