Win2K client help.
Hi Folks, Connecting with Win2K, does that imply any special circumstances like it did with WinNT? Could anyone direct me to a guide/tutorial on how to - quite simple - mount a share from a Linux box on a Win2K client? Thanks a lot. XP troubles
I've recently recompiled and reinstalled the latest Samba because the version I was running wouldn't talk to Windows XP. It still won't. Can anyone direct me to any docs, howtos, or other docs concerning WinXP problems? Thanks... God's Blessings, Gene To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven. Access Denied / Operation Not Permitted Error
Hello. I am having problems copying files from a WinNT 4.0 box to a Red Hat Linux 7.0 computer running Samba 2.2.2 (I've seen this problem with 2.2.1a also). I downloaded 2.2.2 from samba.org and built/installed it myself. I've checked the FAQ at samba.org and searched the mailing list archives at marc.theaimsgroup.com; I've also done several Google searches. I've seen a couple

"Unexpected network error" copying large files NT->Linux?
Folks -- I've read the FAQ at samba.org/samba/docs/FAQ, I've searched the mailing list archives for "unexpected network error", I've searched Google for "samba unexpected network error", and been unable to find anything. If there's another source of information that I should check, I'd greatly appreciate a pointer. I'm trying to copy files to Samba

Developing with Namespaces (was: Recent and upcoming changes to R-devel)
Hi Kasper FWIW, the package development and maintenance support in 'mvbutils' makes it trivial to work with namespaced packages, even at the earliest stages of development. It's completely easy to add and remove functions to/from the namespace (and the exported visible bit) while the package is loaded. Debugging is seamless (via the 'debug' package, anyway). There is no need

Typo3 5.0 Framework
Hi guys, for about one and half a year I am involved in RoR Development. I like the framework very much! But more and more I have my doubts, that this framework will succeed, I think Ruby on Rails succeed only, if some powers from community will be concentrated on a target-oriented development of the Framework. Since the approach of a pragmatic way of programming isn''t new anymore, more

Centos4 and Typo3
Hello, Does anybody use Centos4 and Typo3 as web portal? For all functionalities (graphic) of the portal Image Magick and GD Library must be installed. Are these packets already included in any packet of php... or not? If the answer is not, where can I found these two packets compiled for Centos? Or is there any other solution ? I'dont like to compile these packets, since I have to maintain

timezone tests and R-devel
Yes, you are absolutely right and I'm pretty sure this will be fixed in one way or another. IMO, the failing test should simply use all.equal.POSIXt's new argument check.tzone=FALSE. Two simple alternatives modifying all.equal.POSIXt behaviour: - make check.tzone=FALSE the default: this is inconsistent with other arguments of all.equal methods, always defaulting to stricter checks -

bug report for make check
Thanks, I'm going to shut up then. Despite having been reported multiple times, it was not at all clear to me that this was being worked on with the intention of addressing make check - that is one of the limitations of the communication system we use. timezone tests and R-devel
So let me try to raise this issue once more, and perhaps be more clear about what I think the issue is.. In my opinion there is now a bug in make check in R-development (tested today with r79361). As I see it, I specify a reasonable TZ environment variable and this leads to make check emitting an error. Best, Kasper On Fri, Oct 2, 2020 at 11:28 AM Kasper Daniel Hansen < kasperdanielhansen

Thanks for the report, handled in configure in 72661 (R-devel). I'll also port to R-patched. There is no way to control this at runtime. We will probably have to add a configure test. Data packages in R V 1.3.1 in Win2K
There is probably an easy answer to my problem... Over the last couple of years, I've put together a simple package for courses I've taught. The package contains some data sets. In R versions prior to 1.3.1, I have no trouble attaching the data. I can use ">data()" to see the available data sets, and ">data(mydata)" to put the data set into the local

Why not pthreads on Windows in 'parallel' package?
Aaaah ... and argh - I should have better not to post R question at midnight, especially when I know it forks the process and it's not using threads. Brain meltdown. (So, we'll proceed trying to use pthreads in matrixStats also for Windows). Sorry for the noise and thanks Kasper.
