hi,
i was about to set up a new fs for my desktop machine and i could not
decide which fs it should be. i've written a wrapper script for some
benchmarks before, but it was not really good. i tried to rewrite it and
so, here are the results:

auto_complete galore
List,
I''m using auto_complete with textfield, called CompanyCode. so when you
type fx ''0403'' it will show a list with matching company codes, and the
respective company name - like so:
040333 - Some company inc
040322 - Another company
040323 - whatever Corp.
Anyway, once a user selects one of the entries from the list - the whole
text (name and code) is put into

Migration from tpop3d to dovecot - troubles galore!
Hi people,
I am trying to migrate some users from tpop3d (Maildir mailboxes) to
dovecot. The most important aspect of this migration, and which I
cannot seem to get right, is to first be able to make dovecot to
authenticate against the current DB being used by tpop3d so that
I can use imapsync to transfer the user mails. And I do believe
that is what I am unable to get right!!
So here goes what

hi,
after upgrading to samba 3.0.8 (debian/unstable, i386) i too encounter
similar problems as reported here:

upon logoff from a win2k(sp4) client, the profile cannot be saved and the

Question on sg in netback tx path
I''m trying to improve performance on the gpl pv drivers for windows, and
am running into trouble with the sg stuff on the tx path.
Taking an icmp packet as an example, windows formats the packet like
this:
sg entry 0 - Ethernet header
sg entry 1 - IP header
sg entry 2 - payload
Those pieces could be anywhere inside the page.
In netback.c, it appears that the sg magic happens inside

hi,
a good friend of mine had some trouble with his fs yesterday. i have
some details now and wonder if you have some thoughts on it, even it may
turn out not to be an ext3 issue at all. sorry, the post is a bit too long:
the ext3 fs was running for several months now on a RAID controller. due
to a user error, the RAID controller decided to rebuild

question about Effect.Highlight and IE 5.5
I''ve recently begun testing some of the scriptaculous functionality in
IE 5.5, since my company wants me to support as many browsers as
possible. When I do an Effect.Highlight on a <tr>, it doesn''t quite
work right. I''ve figured out a few things, but I''m not sure whether you
want to change them or not. Here''s what I know:

benchmark results
I've had the chance to use a testsystem here and couldn't resist running a
few benchmark programs on them: bonnie++, tiobench, dbench and a few
generic ones (cp/rm/tar/etc...) on ext{234}, btrfs, jfs, ufs, xfs, zfs.
All with standard mkfs/mount options and +noatime for all of them.
Here are the results, no graphs - sorry:

Include option patch for OpenSSH 6.2
This is really just a modified version of Gavin Beatty's patch,
slightly altered so it'll apply cleanly to OpenSSH 6.2 (i.e. yesterdays
CVS checkout).

Help please-draggable
I asked the other day about this problem but haven''t received a response.
Trying again:
I just downloaded 1.6 and can''t get a simple draggable to work, which
is weird. I know it''s not my browser since the demos are working.
Here is my simple code. I''ve also had the "new Draggable" between
the select tags. Didn''t change anything.

multi-app merb
Ezra,
I love merb, especially because it''s keeping the things that Rails does
well and improves on things that Rails hasn''t done so well.
One of my biggest pain points with Rails has become multi-app
integration. A lot of web sites consist of multiple apps (e.g. a core
site, a forum, a blog/cms, etc.). Doing this sort of thing is very ugly
and inefficient with the current
