Conflict -> Dovecot + Maildrop (maildirsize)
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I'm having some problems with quota from sql (maildir++) and dovecot + maildrop. I'm using maildrop for MDA and dovecot as IMAP server. When an e-mail arrives, maildrop calculates the quota and updates the 'maildirsize' file. When i use dovecot (webmail, thunderbird) it updates the 'maildirsize' too, overwriting it, but in a

continuous access to printer causes high memory usage
Hi list, I am trying to track down a printer-related problem. The most important symptom is a smbd process using almost all memory on my machine (up to 800 MB, at the specific case of which I've posted the logs.) At some point the VM will kill the smbd process, freeing the memory. Apart from this, samba keeps on running fine. Investigation of a level 3 debug log of this process has shown

ext3 and 2.2.19
Hi All, Has anyone had a similar problem with ext3? A 75 gig partition in 24x7 use for about 2 weeks - no problems. Today I ran bonnie++ on the partition to get a feel for the performance, with ext3 and quotas enabled. The box started swapping like crazy on and abruptly froze at at the 'Delete files in random order' step. There was no kernel error messages or the like. This partition

A Callback AGI script
Hi there, I just give you the script (in Python) I have just written in case of someone would like to implemant this. I think it is more simple than the one we can see over the net... It uses DISA (security issues ==> limit access with contexts and the password !!) and CAPI but it should work with type of channel. Basically, you ring your asterisk and the line goes down after 1 ring. Asterisk

Still having trouble with slow opening of printer properties
List, I asked a while back about problems with very slow openings of printer properties windows. This afternoon our main internet link was upgraded to 6Mb (symmetric) and so I thought I might see some improvements in response. But no change. I really don't think it's the pipe that's at fault, there's something wrong with my samba configuration. When I open the properties of a

mbox empty messages in Sent folder
I'm talking about mbox Sent folder, where some mailers append through imap server a copy of each message they send. Sometimes, just three header lines got appended instead of the whole mail message, such as: >From xxxxxxxx at xxxxxx.xxxxxx.xxxxx.xx.xx Fri May 23 12:30:14 2008 X-UID: 2852 Status: RO This happened in the past (dovecot-1.1-beta/rc with Evolution and with Thunderbird), and

password sync "Failed to open/create TDB passwd" - some progress
I made a little progress. It is partly a file permissions error. If I change the permission of /usr/local/samba/private to 660. Since the unix Administrator (ie. Windows Domain Administrator) is in the sysadmin group, this gives it read-write permissions to this file. Under windows, as the Domain Administrator, I can now change account properties such as "password never expires."

Read but no write to linux shares from winxp
Running Gentoo linux samba-3.0.23a I've used samba for quite some time but never have had to delve into its inner workings... Its always just worked. Recently I'm finding that when accessing linux shares from a winxp machine, I have read access, but no write. Far as I know the unix to samba user mappings as set correctly (and as they have been for some time) Near as I can tell the

Win9x can not see my Samba
I hace just installed samba. It works fine using application on my debian, but from Win98 can not see my samba. I can not achieve to see my samba as part of the NT domain. If I try to find \\mysamba\share (where mysamba is my netbios name) Win98 says "Error 53" Unknown hosts or route to host (in spanish) using my IP instead of "mysamba" produces the same result on Win98, but
