Is there a way to use nss_wins to get the hosts of the windows domain without joining the domain? I do have a login into the network but the company I am with is a bit sticky about allowing a linux machine to join the network. If it is possible, is there some kind of how to to do it and what I need to configure to make it work? Does it require winbindd to run? I am currently running under

Hiya, Can someone explain why I am seeing chmod of W32X86/3/PSCRIPT5.DLL failed (Operation not permitted) in the log files. I have been using samba 2.2.2 for quit awhile running with security= share in my company. I looked into the /var/lock/samba and found a growing file unexpected.tdb. Is there a way to trim it down while samba is running or do I have to start and stop samba? Is this an expected behavior? TIA Joseph Loo
