debian/ in CVS
Hello everyone,
I've been poking away at my Debian packages of icecast, ices2, and
libshout, and I've now got them to a point where I think they're ready
to be included in the CVS. The packages have been included in Debian
upstream for some weeks now, and have been reviewed and tested fairly
rigorously. Jack and Ralph have already set me up with a CVS account.
I've been as

Debian Sarge -- cvs vs. apt-get
After reading the wiki, I am still confused as to whether I should install
zaptel, libpri, and asterisk from cvs or use apt-get to retrieve the Debian
packages. I am running Debian sarge with kernel 2.4.26. What is the
prevailing opinion out there about using cvs vs. apt-get for the various
components (zaptel, libpri, and Asterisk)?
Thanks,

State of the application chan_spy
Hi all,
I read on serveral pages that chan_spy is not part of asterisk anymore
as on http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+cmd+ChanSpy on the bottom
of this page.
I have a testing server with debian-testing and debian packages for
asterisk installed. In the modules directory /usr/lib/asterisk/modules
is a app_chanspy.so already there. The currently installed version is
1.4.13.
So, it is

installing wine from cvs alongside deb package
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi.
I'd like to know if there's a way to install the latest CVS wine for
testing purposes while the debian package is still installed?
To be a little more precise I'd like the two installations to share one
fake_windows tree, maybe I might have to store the registries in
different locations.
I'm running wine_0.0.20040914-1_i386.deb on

i fixed a problem with nmbd's GETDC response, it is responding better but
still not perfectly (and 2.0.x and cvs main need to be fixed, as well) as
there exists no explanation for the correct response to locate a Domain
Controller using GETDC.
the upshot of fixing this is that joining an nt workstation to a TNG
domain is now _extremely_

what you've all been waiting for: a merge of smbd from cvs main to
SAMBA_TNG.
please help test this one lots, i may have missed something from the code
i pulled over from cvs main (70,000 lines of code pretty much copy and
diff style!)
i spent some time last night getting the security file/dir tab working,
and lo and behold, you can view and change unix file perms (i am very

cvs: debian updates and autogen.sh trouble
Hello,
I couldn't help noticing that the debian build system in cvs was
changed. As I used to compile and install from cvs, I discovered
a small problem regarding autogen.sh. It's called in debian/rules,
before the obj-dir is created (and changed into and ../configure is
started). At least on my system autogen.sh implicitly runs
./configure, so the original source path is already

dpkg-buildpackage: source version is 2.2.6-0.1
Eventually somebody should change the file packaging/Debian/debian/changelog

Migration from Samba-TNG-alpha 2.6.1 to Samba-2.2.x
Hello,
first of all, this is a message corresponding to a thread named similar in
tng-users mailinglist (tng-users@samba-tng.org).
I am successfully running a samba-tng server at work for quite a year now
but now I want to get to the "official" version (2.2.x) again for increased
stability, namely in file locking issues. The samba-tng server is holding about
35 users along with their

up-to-date debian packages?
The debian (unstable) libtheora and libogg packages are a little out
of date. I was wondering if anybody had made their own packages for
libogg-1.1.1 and libtheora-1.0alpha4.
If not, I'll go ahead and package them up and put them up on my own
debian repository or something, and let you guys know where to get
them.
But if somebody has already done that, let me know.
thanks,
Tim

Can't compile zaptel (CVS Head) on Debian
Hi there,
with both CVS HEAD and 1.2beta1 I don't succeed with either "make" or
"make linux26". I checked more than once to make sure the required
packages are in place - any suggestions?
