Hello all, recently i stumbled upon the I-TDM standard, e.g. see here http://www.picmg.org/v2internal/news2005.htm "SFP.1, also known as I-TDM (Internal TDM), is a companion protocol specification to SFP.0 that is optimized for TDM traffic over high-speed fabrics such as 1 and 10 Gigabit Ethernet (PICMG 3.1), Advanced Switching (PICMG 3.4), Infiniband (PICMG 3.2), etc. SFP.1 and SFP.0

In R, I did > plot(sin(1:10), pch="+") > dev.print(device=postscript, "C:\\myFigure.eps",onefile=FALSE, horizontal=FALSE, paper="special") In latex, I did (myFigure.eps is in the same

Users can't login on XP workstations
Hello, I'm running Samba 3.2.5 on Debian, with tdbsam backend. For the past few days, I've had trouble with starting Samba (which I do routinely once a day) but with users unable to login on Windows workstations. When this happens, the current smbd.log shows no activity (not even the "starting samba" event) and the previous day's smbd.log shows entries like these:

do_fileinfo / file.info test for file IS directory during package load pointlessly stresses NIS by getting username / group info
*Summary: * During package loading the library function calls file.info to determine if a file is a directory. This uselessly invokes getpwuid and getgrgid which can be expensive if the user/group database are held on a network. Note that file_test ALSO uses file.info for the same purpose Suggest rebuilding file_test to use ‘stat’ based call for directory search, and using file_test in

Re: 2.2.7 compile error using --with-acl-support
If you are using the debian/rules from apt-get or the source tarball, you need to not only include --with-acl-support in debian/rules, you also need to vi debian/config.cache --> replace "ac_cv_header_sys_acl_h=${ac_cv_header_sys_acl_h=no}" with "ac_cv_header_sys_acl_h=${ac_cv_header_sys_acl_h=yes}" This will allow it to compile. Unfortunately, for me,

EZStream and Cue Sheets
I may have asked this before, but either I didn't, or I've inadvertently discarded the message containing the answer, so pardon please if this is a repeat. Wil EZStream ever support cue sheets--a companion file containing metadata information normally inserted into the stream from that contained in the multimedia file itself? More play-out software is including the ability to produce

Recommendations regarding textbooks
Hello I was hoping to get some advice regarding teaching R in an academic environment. What are the best choices with respect to textbooks? When this question was asked a few years back, people were primarily recommending ?Modern Applied Statistics with S? and ?Introductory Statistics with R? as two good choices. I?ve also heard some good thinks regarding ?An R Companion to Applied

Keyboard Fails at Login Prompt
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I just setup an old box with CentOS 4 and I'm having a very strange problem. The keyboard is functional throughout the startup process of the machine. I get the login prompt and I get just enough time to type in "root" and hit the enter button before the keyboard fails. I've tried a different keyboard but still the same problem.

Display IP addresses on the system console *before* the login prompt.
What does 'man agetty' (or whatever you're using) on the OS in question say? Ubuntu 14.04 doesn't list "\4{<nic>}" as an option and it doesn't work, 16.04 does and it does appear there (might have to press Enter to get a screen refresh). If the OS doesn't support it then you'll have to get creative (send 'ip addr' output to /etc/issue at boot
