File locks when restarting smb
Hi, Is there a known problem with file locks when Samba restarts? I have several servers happily running Samba on RH Linux, and several hundred clients running M$ Win9x. There are always a large number of open files, and I am currently migrating the data off several NT servers and onto the Samba ones. This has meant changing the smb.conf file on a regular basis. I am restarting Samba using

Problem with sending mail from mail server behind firewall.
I am having a problem with connections from a server behind a shorewall firewall. Both machines are running redhat 8.0 with a custom 2.4.20 kernel. The problem lies with a mail server I am configuring which has been able to send mail to all hosts, except this one. The connection starts with the SYN_SENT, and then just hangs there. (telnet to remote server on port 25 just hangs trying to

How create multiples ssh on same host without asking same password
Hello, I used the SecureShell windows client from ssh.com and it have a cool feature: Once I logged on a server with ssh, I was able to create more terminals without being asked for a password again. It seems that it use the 'same channel' created from the first ssh client. So, it's possible with openssh on linux/bsd? If yes, how? If not, can you add this feature? Why I ask taht?

asking advice for Integer Programming packages
Dear everyone, I don't know much about Integer Programming but am afraid I am facing a problem that can only be solved via Integer Programming. I was wondering if those of you who have experience with it could recommend an R package. I found the following R packages: Rglpk glpk lpSolve lpSolveAPI Are there any others? Are some of them easier to use than others for a beginner? Any advice

Asking for help
Sirs, I am a newbe jumping to advance routing and traffic control. I work for one of the leading isp in kingdom of Nepal. Asking for last +1 for render :parial => @something in namespaced controllers patch
Hello, http://dev.rubyonrails.org/ticket/9742 If anyone is annoyed by that, please find a moment to review the patch. It''s rather tiny and tested enough. It still applies cleanly (r8962) as I write this. Asking PIN on usb dongle insert
Dear Friends, This questions is about smartcard/usb token support in OpenSSH. pcsc-lite now supports udev rules. It should be possible to trigger ssh-add -s /usr/lib/openssh-pkcs11.so when inserting a USB token. At the same time there should be a way to trigger ssh-add -e /usr/lib/openssh-pkcs11.so on USB token removal. Did some of you test this scenario? Kind regards, --

[LLVMdev] Asking for a quick review
Hello all, can someone do a quick review of the one-line proposal fix attached to http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=15581? I'm not sure that I can explain why it works, but it (hopefully) is, so I really need a feedback with this. Thanks, Dmitry

[LLVMdev] Asking for a quick review
Hi Dmitry, > I'm not sure that I can explain why it works, but it > (hopefully) is, so I really need a feedback with this. I doubt anyone is going to approve the patch without being able to explain why it works. To me, it looks a little dodgy. Why should the sign of the offset depend on its position in the instruction using it? I can vaguely see there might be some argument that we

Indicating context when asking the ssh-agent to use a key
This e-mail is about thinking through some possible extensions to the ssh-agent communications protocol. When the ssh-agent receives a request to use one of the keys it holds, it gets no context information from the requesting system about what the key operation is to be used for. My own typical workflow (as a user who actively monitors and confirms the use of my keys by the ssh-agent) is to
