Paths in knitr
Hi All, I have to compile a report for the management and decided to use RMarkdown and knitr. I compiled all needed plots (using separate R scripts) before compiling the report, thus all plots reside in my graphics directory. The RMarkdown report needs to access these files. I have defined ```{r setup, include = FALSE} knitr::opts_knit$set( echo = FALSE, xtable.type = "html",

Paths in knitr
Hi Yihui, Hi Duncan, I corrected my typo. Unfortunately knitr did not find my plots in the directory where they reside which is different from the Rmd document. The documentation of knitr says: base.dir: (NULL) an absolute directory under which the plots are generate root.dir: (NULL) the root directory when evaluating code chunks; if NULL, the directory of the input document will be used

a newbie question
Hello everyone I just found out this great tool. I need to use it to get access to DSBL zones. in their website it says Can I run my own DSBL DNS secondary? DSBL provides direct rsync access to our zones. To retrieve one of the zones, install rsync and run the following command: rsync -t rsync.dsbl.org::dsbl/<file> . where <file> is one of: rbldns-list.dsbl.org

littler: Use for batch processing of data sets: How to pass filename?
Dear R folks, I have several data sets I want to process automatically using R. I found littler [1] and thought this will do the trick. 1. Read in data file to a data frame using `scan()`. 2. Do linear regression. 3. Write the data and the coefficients back to a file. #!/usr/bin/env r if (is.null(argv) | length(argv)!=1) { cat("Usage:

Broken Links on http://www.r-project.org
I was not sure who I should contact about this, so I am posting this here. There are a few broken links on the R website. 1) http://www.r-project.org/search.html -> link to the Nabble R Forum. I belive the correct/new URL should be: http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/ 2) http://www.r-project.org/other-docs.html -> link to "Auswertung ?kologischer Daten". Not sure if there is a new

blackmail attempt? Stable mailing list block?
I got some weird mail back, claiming that my e-mail was blocked, w/o indicating what server was blocked, after the mail appeared in the mailing list. Is this some BS shakedown? I use postfix on a DSL line forwarding to earthlink, this is hardly something that should be rare in the BSD world... the mail appeared to come from a web mail server and the first link has the following lovely text:

Using Dovecot-auth to return error code 450 (or other 4xx) to Postfix when user is on vacation
Hello to all members. I am using Dovecot for 5 years, but this is my first post here. I am aware of the various autoresponder scripts for vacation autoreplies (I am using Virtual Vacation 3.1 by Mischa Peters). I have an issue with auto-replies - it is vulnerable to spamming with forged email address. Forging can be prevented with several Postfix settings, which I did in the past - but was forced

I'm trying to put an end to the spam at least and the built-in stuff for Evolution isn't working as well as it should I did some Googling on procmail and fetchmail and spamassassin config files and much

It looks like this: bmi <- function(weight, height) { bmi <- weight / height^2 bmi } If I want to use this function, I have to mark everything and then press Ctrl-R. But then everything single line is executed on the command line,

Q's about switching from sendmail to postfix
Running CentOS 4.2 with all updates. I've been using sendmail for my MTA since forever. I've grown used to it and I can make it do what I want it to. However (there's always a catch, isn't there)... Lately it seems that some mail is being lost. I've noticed some instances when a message was sent to myself and others which I will only see if someone replies back to
