install 2.2.0 ssl troubles
Hello!
Here are my specs.
Slackware 7.1
OpenSSL 0.9.6a
Samba 2.2.0 downloaded today
It claims that it cant find ssl.h
Here is my configure line:
./configure --prefix=/usr --with-ssl
--with-sslinc=/usr/local/ssl/include/openssl --with-smbmount
--enable-debug
I verified that ssl.h is in /usr/local/ssl/include/openssl
Any ideas?
Thank you

security issues wint smbmount
Dear sirs/madams,
I am using smbmount (mount -t smbfs) version 2.2.8a for mounting shares
from a Windows 2003 server on a Linux machine.
This works fine, but there seems to be a security problem; ordinary
users can write to files, even when the Unix protection does not allow this.
The user cannot remove the file or create a new one, but can do what
he/she wants with an existing one.
Is this a

A couple of questions
Hi guys,
First of all, thanks for your great work. So many people *need* Samba to
work...!
I have a couple of questions about Samba. I have been fiddeling with Samba
config files for some time now (as well as reading documentation about
it), and... there must be something I am missing.
The network I am managing has a very, very standard configuration.
It's a C class (netmask:

AGI and Music on hold
Hi,
Happy Thanksgiving to those of us in the USA...
Been trying to debug an AGI (in C) on 1.4.26.2. I blind transfer a call to
this snippet of dialplan:
exten => 999900,1,DeadAGI(pq.agi,999950)
pq.agi then plays a prompt (which I hear just fine):

[Bug 13317] rsync returns success when target filesystem is full
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13317
--- Comment #6 from Rui DeSousa <rui.desousa at icloud.com> ---
(In reply to Rui DeSousa from comment #5)
It looks like no error is returned and result is a sparse file. I think a
sync() would be required otherwise the file is truncated on close to meet the
quota.

Samba dosn't seem to work when bridging is enabled under FreeBSD 3.4
Hi,
I have been trying to set up a network bridge on my FreeBSD 3.4 machine (hades),
and as soon as I enable the bridge, Samba stops servicing requests from both
sides of the network.
The following is a 'diagram' to give you an idea of my setup.

Changing administrator password after Samba4 classic upgrade
I used to upgrade samba3 to samba4 with almost successful with one problem,
administrator can't access. As administrator, by default it is the only
user account that is given full control over the system.
My query is how to change the administrator password? we have one account
which can join to the samba 4 AD based on the migrated data but the problem
can't change the administrator or

I'm using:

We're running an NT4 domain using an LDAP backend, and everything was running fine until recently. The first thing that I noticed that new users were suddenly being assigned SambaSID's that were previously being assigned to machines.

Problem with classicupgrade / ProvisioningError
Hello,
I'm running a Samba 4.3.3 install on FreeBSD 8.4 (ZFS) in domain mode with passdb tdb backend. The databases and config files are the current versions of an install that I think started in the 1.9.x version range back in the late 90s (I can't remember exactly--it's been a long time!) and smbpasswd days. I'm now trying to convert to an AD install using the classicupgrade

Samba + ACLs: Can’t add group write permissions
Hi there,
I?ve been trying to get my head around a problem I have with Samba.
I?ve set up Samba 3.6.13 on a Raspberry Pi with Arch Linux ARM on it and
let it serve a couple of folders from an attached external ext4 drive
mounted to /srv/cifs (of course with the "acl" option enabled).
I?ve been trying to create a share that is read-writable for all
members of a particular UNIX user
